Just food for thought on coolers. I have the Yeti 48 Roadie and it has wheels. If you're new to these coolers I suggest going to the store to see the relative size for the volume you want to purchase (pretty comparable across brands). They are super heavy when filled and I know my back would give out trying to lift it so wheels are a must for me and family. This is a great price but without wheels it's a deal breaker.

Cooler? That looks like waterproof ammunition storage to me.

As with all the Pelican coolers, lots of complaints in the reviews about the drain leaking and the seal in the lid having a gap in it. If you order, might be a good idea as soon as you get it to take apart that drain and seal around it inside and out with some silicone.

some of the high end ones rely on brand name and reputation but they are also bulky/heavy to ship and they also last a long long time, ...

Nice find OP, these are good deals. If I didn't already have coolers these sizes I would snap one up.

Looks like same prices at Amazon too in some colors.

EDIT: shipped and sold by Adorama. Better deal if you get 5% back from a Prime VISA.

Well, because these fancy new ice chests are rotomolded. Pelican cases are also rotomolded, so this makes sense for them as a brand. And if you look, their cases aint cheap either. Even the chinese knockoffs aren't that cheap.

Now, they dont actually keep stuff cold much better than old school coolers. But they are tough as hell, a reason I keep a pelican case as my luggage

you are sorta right (I think anyway) if you want something cool for 24hrs, any decent color should work. these are def much better build.. but if u want something cool 2-4 days, then these ones are usually better because they have (on avg) 2x more insulation than other types...

i saw a bunch of cutout videos on YT and that's where I made my info fromSmilie

Yeah, they might keep ice slightly longer. But at 3 times the cost
An igloo marine or an igloo max cool can keep ice for nearly as long, cost 1/3rd as much, and are far lighter.

Unless your specific use case needs ice for 5 days OR you need the thing to be used as a chair(like on a boat), I just dont see much reason for this. Might as well just save your money. Or are you going on week long camping excursions regularly?

My point was that rotomolded coolers dont inherently work better than regular coolers. If you used a pelican case as an ice chest, it wouldn't do well despite being rotomolded.

If you made a traditional foam insulation cooler as thick as a rotomolded cooler, I actually think it would probably be a better insulator.
If you want the BMW of coolers, buy this: https://www.amazon.com/YETI-Stain...B0842BVBPP
