Now they've done it...
New wording for Metro unlock policy:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy

"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...

has anyone noticed if this is happening more frequently with iphone 11?
There is no difference if you buy iPhone or Motorola phone from their identity verification system.

Anyone knows how to order more than one device in one shot? I was hoping to order two iPhone 12. But every time I tried to add a second iPhone, it overwrote the item previously added to the cart. Trying one 12 and one 11 didn't work either. I'm using Chrome and clearing the cache made no difference. TIA!

I couldn't order 2 in 1 order and couldn't even order a 2nd one after placing my first order (cleared cookies, used a 2nd browser still no luck - lost 2 numbers to port).

Guess I was lucky to even get 1 order in (and that was after being rejected on first attempt) - alot of people here are getting rejected from placing any.

Metro by T-Mobile website is a mess. I tried adding a line to my current account but could not instead had to buy phone with family members name because it would not allow me to do so. After talking to Metro by T-Mobile rep I figured that if you log in to your account, do not check the phone, instead, Go To Metro By T-Mobile home page, (make sure you are logged in) then click on My Account, then you will see an option that says "add a new line" using that process you can save quite a bit starting plan for $30/$40 instead of paying $65 and adding multiple line on different account with so much hassle. It caused so many errors and so many issues. Reminder: I am not sure how many account you can add but just found out about it just now. Sharing the savings to you guys! All the best.

Metro By T-Mobile website is a mess so much glitches. One of my order came with different IMEI and SIM card number on SOS form (Service Starter Form) vs what is on order. I hope they unlock after 180 days or else FTC is the route will be then. Crazy Metro!

Edit: Works from inside the my account as well.

Just a question if anyone here knows for sure what happens to the 180 day unlock if you port out at say day 25 of the first monthly prepaid plan? Also does the account gets closed or cancelled automatically?
Thanks all for any input on this!!

Try 1 hour, 2 hour or 3 hour later, if not next day. Try adding a line to your account, you will save more. To add, login, then go to home page, then click my account and then "Add a new line" from there you can add a line to your existing account with $30/$40/50 plan. I had no idea and went through trouble of adding more lines using family members name. Website is full of glitches and bugs and so much issues. Total chaos or peace once your order gets through.

I ordered the Razr 2023 with the Google number port in as the second line for $40 (total of $149)

Order placed: 3/1
Order Shipped: 3/2 [picked up by UPS on 3/4]
Order Received: 3/5 and activated without any issue.

Google voice number port in worked out smoothly, but again, Metro site is a big hit or miss (been on receiving end last year when they blocked me on security questions).

Right now, I have two active lines on Metro, and the newly added line renewal date is adjusted to my old line. So the total for renewal is $72 instead of $80 for two standalone lines (autopay is off, so you are not paying anything for the second month). Phone is worth the efforts.

If I borrow my aunt's existing account to add a line+ get a phone and then turn off auto-pay as suggested (and wait out the 180 days for myself), how can my aunt continue to pay for her existing service for future months? I don't want to mess up for account and phone service. Is there an option to select which line you want to pay for? Thanks.

Did you get new numbers with "add a line", or did you have to port in?

Must Port in for deals that requires it, unless free with new number.
