Now they've done it...
New wording for Metro unlock policy:

https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/t...ock-policy

"Unlock eligibility requirements
We unlock mobile devices that meet the following eligibility criteria free of charge:

The device must be purchased from Metro by T-Mobile.
The device must not be reported as lost, stolen or blocked.
Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date."

Should obviously only apply to purchases made after they changed the rules.
But might have to fight for that...
scroll down to Port your Google Voice number out to another carrier

in the unlocking phase after activation, do occasional calls have to be made to show use for the month or can it just be turned off and stored for the 6months?

What should you do if you never able to pass their identity verification system. I tried 6-8 times over the last few days and no luck. Has anyone tried the Metro Store? Any success without being ripped off?
Now it says the number I used for my port is not valid to be ported and I got email from my current service provider that they have approved it Big Grin

Ordered an 11 and 12 on Monday. Both are arriving Thursday. Just placed another order for another 12 and it went fine. Got the numbers off of EBay.

I did have trouble using today's number this morning. Got an error then couldn't re-use the number. Tried a few hours later and it still didn't work, just tried again and it worked.

Has anybody successfully done the promo in store? I called a local Metro store and they have the same promo for the iPhone 12 at $99.99 + $65 plan + tax and the agent said no activation fee. I just need to bring my own number.

Should I trust the guy or is he gonna try to upsell me when I get there?

I ported in my GV number. Now after setup with the new iphone 11, it shows the correct phone number, and it can dial up to other phone; However, it can't receive calls. I checked and found all incoming calls/texts still went to the GV account.

I'm experiencing this too. I called customer service and they "escalated" the problem but will still need to wait another 30 minutes for the porting to complete.

I couldn't order 2 in 1 order and couldn't even order a 2nd one after placing my first order (cleared cookies, used a 2nd browser still no luck - lost 2 numbers to port).

Guess I was lucky to even get 1 order in (and that was after being rejected on first attempt) - alot of people here are getting rejected from placing any.
Fwiw I did 2 back to back orders within 10 minutes of each other just fine about 6 months ago, albeit by accident as I thought the first order didn't go thru as it was showing an error message, Received both orders and activated both without issues.

Did you use a different email address for each order?

There's nothing to cancel as it's prepaid service. Just leave auto-renewal off and don't pay for the 2nd month and you are all set.
