got my moto razr today. nice phone, i wish it would a unlock so i can use with tmo. i am done with 2 phones with same account. both showed up on account. my 1st one was iphone 12. thanks op.
I thought there have been reports from some people that their phones have worked on T-mobile networks without waiting to be unlocked. I think this was mentioned in the original thread that started back in September. I can't vouch for it.

Do we even have to activate the phone ( gv port number) , someone mentioned it gets activated itself after 30 days or so, so not even insert sim and phone gets unlocked after 180+30 days ? Any thoughts ?

I ported out a GV number that had been parked there for like 6 years two years ago to TMO postpaid and I don't remember that it took very long. But searching my email archive, I found an email from Google stating the porting had been completed. I have yet to see such an email on the number I ported out to Metro a week ago. I hope nobody who is doing this need their GV number to work uninterrupted.
My GV number is a throw-away one. So I don't care if they fully port it or not.

I got an email from Metro with the title Your phone is activated (that's all I care about, i.e., the start of the 180-day unlock counter).

I tried the Razr, it doesn't work on Tmobile. The last Metro phone that worked on Tmobile for me was the oneplus n200 more than a year ago

Yes. I tried to add an iphone11 on Tuesday-Wednesday to an account that alread had an iPhone12. Failed 4-5 times and Metro locked up (then released) that GV number each time. After each failure, the next attempt got "The number can't be used" or "You're not eligible to add a line". Finally succeeded on Friday. UPS picked up the phone this afternoon. To be delivered on Tuesday.
Do you have to call them to get it release or they automaticallyreleaseit after a few days? I'm in the same boat as my number is locked up, getting you're not eligible to add a line.

Confirming Metro's iPhone 12 I just received doesn't accept TMO sim cards.

All 3 devices are on the same account, if you don't pay, all 3 devices will be suspended, why do you need access to the account anyways?
My other two lines ported from GV yet to be completely ported. I am worried that if the porting is completed before the end of the billing period, my other lines will stop working then I wont be able to unlock my phones after 180 days,

No. Metro usually released the number about 4-6 hrs after a failed order. The "can't add a line" error is due to the failed order hasn't been purged from Metro system yet. That takes longer, like 6-8 hrs.

The lines are activated and can make calls. That started the clock.

Thanks, though not trying to port, trying to add an additional line with a new number. I thought that was or at least had been $0? Well $0 for the A15 + $40 for service?
Yes, it was $0 for quite sometime, but after online porting added, they changed it to $29.99

I was able to reorder today as you've mentioned, it was released and I was able to add 2nd line to my account with an iphone 12 with $30 plan, comes out to be around $140 included tax. Thanks.
