Why doesn't it work? It says up to March 31
Very disappointed!
Because it was designed to generate a lot of interest and traffic.
Coupon code only worked for about 2 hours. Somewhat shorter than 3/31/2024

I paid 15% fee for a while in electronics ...are there extra fees added to that ?
Forgot to add the link in my post but here [ebay.com]. Enjoy reading the fleabay novella on fees, by a fleabag of thieves.

It depends on the category but IIRC, electronics is 13.25% + the $0.30 fee (assuming it sold for > $10). Heads up, this is gonna be long.
Can't remember the particulars (and it might be state dependent) but a year ago or so I sold something using their shipping, as I was testing out a sale where buyer pays for shipping because I had recently been getting charged > expected as a buyer due to the way their system allows a seller to charge for shipping, incl adding a handling fee.
While looking at the invoice (finding the true breakdown only after clicking through a few menus, ofc), first I noticed they deducted sales tax on both shipping AND handling cost, but then they were also collecting their fee from a total which included the item, shipping & handling, AND taxes. Shady af, one might be because of state, but both? Anyway, I think it was at least 15% but prolly much higher cause my normal tax rate is 9.75%. I'd check for you, but ofc ebay removes any history > a couple months old, which honestly should be illegal. I don't understand how shit like that isn't, especially when it comes to my freaking BANK (not as bad, but still unacceptable). 'Murica.

It's kinda funny you're asking me this, considering your reply to the person above, lol.

The terms could have been clearer, but it's typical for eBay coupons to have an expiration date and funding limit, whichever comes first. eBay is not a retailer that has a big markup, it makes a commission of less than 20% so was losing money on every purchase. That's a slick deal, and whether the limit was a million or a billion it won't last long since we don't get to drive stores bankrupt unfortunately. It's disappointing to miss a deal, but the only thing to do is be happy for those who got in on it and look forward to the next deal, which could even be better.
eBay bleeds money left and right on poor decision making by its mismanagement team. For what minimal services eBay provides for what it charges, it should have enough to fund these coupons for more than 100*150 dollars.

The negative advertising from this is going to cost way more than the $150,000 coupon.

I did not get 2 hours, I got maybe 10-15minutes cuz I wanted to watch a review or two and stop working.

They should had put in an important detail:
"While supplies last"

Why weren't they?

Why include an irrelevant expiration date and "twenty-four hour limitation" – which led me to believe that I'd claimed the coupon and had 24 hours to redeem it?

No funding limit was mentioned. Was "while supplies last" meant to communicate this? Such language typically pertains to physical goods. I interpreted it to mean that the offer was applicable only to the purchase of items currently in stock (with no raincheck-like extension provided if something sold out).

Why not state this in the terms – instead of expecting users to know what's "typical" and plan for that instead?

eBay and Slickdeals were under no obligation to run the promotion at all – but you did, and people simply took it at face value.

If a fast food restaurant were to advertise "one free hamburger per person, all day, while supplies last" and draw a long line of patrons – only to announce that the offer was limited to the first 10 hamburgers distributed, but "please continue with your order" at full price – people would be rightly upset.

Then imagine the restaurant's management issuing a response along the lines of "Well, we can't be expected to actually give away all of these hamburgers for free. Why this sense of entitlement? You should've realized that promos never work that way. It would be bad for business!"

In other words, "get over it and keep visiting our wonderful website."

We should be thankful that others received what was promised and grateful that we might get an opportunity to try again in the future.

Not even an apology? Really?

Thanks for explaining how the process seemed like you had claimed the discount. I think this is the first time Slickdeals has done a deal like this so we definitely have a lesson to learn.
