I placed 2 orders for pickup. Why do we need to set an appointment? I don't see any option for that and I don't think an appointment is not needed.

Yes to get a number you need to schedule an appointment. You will need to port a number otherwise. You don't anything upfront but when you cancel the account you will have to pay the prorated charges for the days service was active. The phone is unlocked and sealed. They give you an ATT SIM separately which you can throw away

If we do this online, what plan are we supposed to select?

The minimum I see is $61. Wasn't there supposed to be one for $40 or so? Thanks.

You don't need to open the phone to activate it. When BB creates the account with ATT you will get an email/text to setup the account. That happens around the time phone is ready for pickup or bring shipped

If you are porting a number you don't need an appointment. The store appointment is only for new nunber

You can select the lowest one available, you are going to cancel it anyway.

Thank you - so the $61 plan - I'm assuming. That's the minimum I see. Previous deal, people had $40 I guess.

Thanks. I have a Metro prepaid phone number that I plan on porting out. I think this will work?
  1. Place order on Best Buy for store pickup. Enter my Metro account details on the website during the order process.
  2. Wait for Best Buy to process the pick-up. I should get an email notification from ATT to set up my account when Best Buy is ready? When I placed an order, I just received a 'verify your email' message, but no way to actually create an account since I need my full account # or ATT Phone #
  3. Pick up phone from Best Buy. There shouldn't be a need to talk to anyone. Just go to the pickup counter.
  4. No need to open the phone? It's already activated? Don't I need to finish porting my Metro #?
  5. Contact ATT as soon as possible to cancel the service. I should get the $35 activation refunded, and maybe get a prorated bill of a few dollars?
