ATT return policy says, if you cancel with 3 days to waive the activation and 14 days to cancel the line. pick up in store to avoid activation fee. if you want to do the deal online you can get a Google voice/tello number and port it over. otherwise you can get a new number in store.

Just picked up the phones from BB store with attached SIM kit . Ordered online last night used GV number for transfer. Got Att mail for account setup!!

Question - do I need to activate the line with the ATT mail & then go for cancellation request. Planning to gift it - TIA

Just picked mine in store. In line for an agent from online chat for service cancellation.

I was on chat with AT&T and they have asked me to call that 800 331 0500 for any cancellation. Not sure how long that is going to take and what reason to say.

LOL, same feeling exactly. Strangely I received a call from Bestbuy (888-237-8289) and they were speaking on my behalf to activate the AT&T account. They called and wanted me to provide a PIN, which I never had one. A few minutes later, the Bestbuy rep called back and said they activated my account successfully with AT&T. Hopefully this isn't some kind of scam.

Didn't activated the sim. But setup the ATT account from ATT email before going for picking up. Believe we need the account # to cancel the service.

Do i need to use the phone with sim or can i call or chat to cancel without going through ATT account setup/login? I haven't looked at their emails yet. Not sure what they want me to do. I want to get a "new customer" code from MC before i cancel.

ATT is asking me to wait for 48 to 72 hours before i can cancel the line. Anyone experienced the same issue

I seriously think something is flawed with Best Buy's / ATT porting process. I tried with a Google Voice number (not unlocked), and picked up the phone at Best Buy for $0.00 and just cancelled with ATT.

No security questions asked or anything.
