Cancelling via chat now. Below is the message I got. The process was not quick. Took at least 15 minutes

Before you cancel service, you should know:
You're still responsible for your current bill period. It won't be prorated based on your cancel date.
Any unpaid installment balance for a phone will be due immediately.
Any unpaid installment balance for a tablet will be due on your next bill.
You may be charged a fee, depending on your situation.

The line is already out of contract , I can cancel it effective today or schedule it to the last date of billing cycle as the cancellations are not prorated and allows you to use the service until the last date of billing cycle . Please confirm as which date will work the best for you?

If your final bill has a balance of $0, you receive an email confirming your $0 balance. Don't forget, you can view your bill details at att.com or my AT&T app. You have 60 days from the day your service ends to access your AT&T online account.

I am so sorry that we have reached this stage where we have to let you go , but please rest be assured if you have a change of mind you can get back to your AT&T family with the same number within 59 days.

Just to recap , you contacted us regarding the phone line cancellation , I was able to check and help you with sharing the options and offers to keep the line active , proceeded with the cancellation as per your request effective today , shared the total bill charges and shared the info. No, I cancelled two separate lines over chat today. They try to retain you, but just be persistent.

Is anyone planning to use this personally for themselves? I'm moving over to a company like Mint or US Mobile, but I'd like to try their service before porting my personal cell number (that I've had for many many years), and intend to use this OnePlus myself.

Any foreseeable issues, or would it go as smoothly as cancelling with ATT and signing up with "bring my own device"?

So now BB is delaying the pickup unless it gets activated: "was checking on your order and it seems that the item still hasn't been activated. That is the reason why your order is still on hold as of the moment.
So ATT needs to activate this first, so I can pick it up? Confused

Just now my BB shipping order status changed, picked up.

Planning to cancel the att account now for two lines under same account. Lets see how it goes..

Hello.. thank you posting the deal. I just picked up phone from BB with $0. I choose to get new number. My question is how can I get the phone unlocked and when can I cancel the service with AT&T. Do I need to insert the sim and activate the phone or can cancel the service without that.

The chat has a 40+ minute wait. It just keep saying in line for an agent. Been waiting since 30+ minutes now.

I canceled the line through chat but the rep told me I can cancel effective today or at the end of the billing cycle that I already have paid for (which I haven't), because cancellations are not prorated. Not sure he was right. I asked him to cancel effective today anyways. My experience with ATT cancellation in the past was cancellation whithin the first couple of days voids any charges.
