Sits just above a much more expensive 3070ti. It's a good buy at this price I think but GPU prices are fluctuating right now due to the release of Nvidia SUPER cards and stuff like the 7900 GRE. You may want to wait a month or two to see if it goes any lower
40-50W less for the 7700 XT. Say you pay $0.15 per kWh, you'd save 1kWh every 20 or so hours spent gaming. Remember that the higher power consumption is mostly applicable to gaming and not just idle/productivity use. So to save $40 you'd need to use it for something like 5000 hours. If you really use it heavily, that might actually pay off, but for me that math just doesn't work.

How worthy is this? Really G-card noob here, this is vanilla 6800 right? Not XT
I bought this back in november and used it to make a 1440p build for my nephew as a christmas present. It is a really good card for the price. It is long though so check your case size.

This and the 7700 XT are extremely close performance wise, 7700 is slightly better in ray tracing, 6800 has scenarios where the extra VRAM makes a difference. At the same price it'd depend on which features matter to you, but for $40 less I'd just get the 6800
Same price it went on sale in October and November. Seems like this will become the everyday price soon enough. If you need it today it is a fair price but not really a screaming deal.

If the 77 uses a fraction less electricity, that'll more than make up for $40 difference in the long run.
Scored this over the holidays for the same price for a 1080p. It's a little more powerful than needed for that but can always upgrade the monitor later. GPU prices were rising this year but some recent price cuts as mentioned above as I believe demand is falling some. You can look up performance comparisons on YouTube or websites. It is one of the best $/perf in this price range. And, as always, depends on your usage model or what games you play the most, etc. The memory size here will help longevity as games require increasing memory. Ray tracing is lower than the 7700xt as mentioned above. Keep in mind this card is older so driver support will wane sooner. And the newer cards tend to use less power so there is a cost associated with that. I'm really happy with the card and it's pretty big so check the specs of your case to ensure a good fit. Yes and no; if you need to get a new power supply then that factors into it on how efficient it is vs how much is rated

Good points. I cared a little more about power dissipation when I lived in an old house in Texas. Now that I live in Colorado and have my PC in the basement, it would almost be nice for it to be a space heater.
The other thing with the 6800 vs 7700 is the 16GB vs 12 GB. I think I'd lean toward the 6800 here if I were buying. But I'm not buying because with the 7900 GRE just coming out at $550, it's inevitable that the 7800 and 7700 XT will slide further down in price in the near future.

If I was on the market on a budget this is a no brainer. Add to it it is XFX, one of the best AIB partners of AMD.
Average length so not going to be an issue with fitting in most cases; it's on par with raster 3070 but with 16gb vram
