I'm not sure what you mean. What was changed in the computerized version?
The theme music is not original. The space ships are computer animation, no longer physical models.
One change that was not made was the action in special effects. Instead of artistically creating action that perfectly fits the storyline, the computer animation recreates stock clips reused from older shows. The computer animation repeats the same mistakes made in the original series that were done because of the small NBC TV budget.
This is a great looking set. I love the colors and the artwork that seem brand new but still evoke a sixties mentality. I wanted to buy this set... but I have the previous two sets already. Oh, life is hard when you're a trekkie.
I will echo what everyone says about Amazon's shipping choices. I ordered an Ultraman steelbook and it came dented in a plastic envelope. I also ordered a box of $0.99 wafer cookies and they came in a cardboard box(?!) If Amazon is reading this, please treat your steelbooks as you would wafer cookies. Maybe the trick is to order this AND wafer cookies, and maybe they'll put them together!

Anyone know why?
Mentioned above in this thread. Steelbooks frequently damaged in shipping because if you're lucky they might be alone in a padded envelope, and if you're not lucky they're loose in a cardboard box with whatever else you're getting that day and not enough padding.

I fear they will do the same thing to the original Battlestar Galactica.

It's actually pretty common now. They poorly ship steelbooks and they get destroyed.
