I ended up going with the ST1521 ,which is the 15 split shaft at a discounted price of $199.99. Reason being that I read that the Line IQ has faulted many. Still a good price though.

Got this last year. Just wanted to say I really like it. Its probably 80% as powerful as my previous high end Stihl - but that is more than sufficient (probably overkill) for 100% of my use case (1.2 acres with lots of fence line to trim). Its a bit lighter and easier to handle than the stihl, love not having to worry about fuel/getting it started. Line IQ works well for me....and PowerLoad was a game changer, makes it so easy to reload string. Big fan and would never go back.

You can return the battery only.
Can anyone confirm they have done this? It sells as a bundle I can see the returns being a bundle. Don't want to waste my time.

Just an FYI - The Ego LB7654 blower is the same sale price with same promotion. It has 5ah battery and also comes with the additional 2.5ah free battery, too.

Is the 5ah battery to heavy to use with the string trimmer?

I think this passes as a hot deal these days. Ego stuff is awesome. If I had a need I'd be in. Here's to hoping we see some of the actual cheap deals of precovid in the future.

I bought it the last time I saw it on sale here. Awesome trimmer. So easy to restring, it's a monster with the 0.95" line, easily keeps up with gas powered trimmers. I would highly recommend having 2 batteries so you can work while one charges.

I believe Lowes has the same deal, but not sure about which trimmer model of EGO. Returns for Lowes more convenient for 90 days.

Btw, does anyone know if the combo of trimmer and blower for $299 is a better deal? Is the trimmer an inferior model or something?

For mowers, i'll likely get the Greenworks 80v one at Costco due to returns at any time for their mowers. The one they have is $599. I think the warranty is like 8 yrs too.

What is the difference and what was the issue with LINE IQ?

Of all the Ego lawn tools that I own, the trimmer is by far the most disappointing. Except for the fact that you get two batteries, I would avoid the deal as posted.
