Walgreens[walgreens.com] is having a Buy 2, Get 2 FREE sale on select 12-Packs of Pepsi and Canada Dry products (including Mountain Dew, A&W Root Beer, and more). Sale price is 4 12-packs for $18.98 ($4.75 each) with free store pickup.
So expensive but I also see Albertsons raising the price to $5 each for their sales. I just say no and buy from Dollar General, they have as low as 3 for $11-13 still. Last week got Dr Pepper products 3 for $11 and you get $5 off $25 on Saturday.
I don't mind the $4 per 12 pack price point but I can never understand why anybody would by a 12 pack for $8.99. Of all the grocery stores in my area one of them usually has a sale price between 4 and 5 dollars. I was paying $2-3 on sale in the early 2000s, $4 seems like normal inflation.
Anyone seen any reasoning why soda seems to have gone up over 100% since covid? Ive stopped buying soda
It's $9.99 regular price at my local Ralph's/Kroger's. I can't imagine anyone ever buying these full price.
This is why I don't believe the government's inflation numbers (18% total in last 3 years). I am certain these were $3.99 when not on sale 3 years ago. That's a 150% increase in price. Ditto a million other things at the grocery store.

Yes. Pepsi+Frito Lay is reporting record profits for the fourth quarter in a row. During their recent shareholder meeting, they said that they intend to push to cost to as high as the market will bear, since the other soda companies will follow suit, and, although their sales have been slowing domestically, they expect interest rates to fall this year, "freeing up American incomes for luxury goods." And that they expect that foreign sales will make up the loss. In short, they're making a conscious decision to fark us, knowing that, should Trump get reelected they can get away with it, since he has expressed his intent to reverse Biden's anti-shrinkflation push.
Donno if anyone cares, but I had to look for an alternative to these ludicrous prices. Found "stars and stripes" 93oz bottle of regular or diet cola at dollar tree $1.25. The diet variety is literally the best diet soda ive ever had (pepsi and coke zero sugar are better, but barely). Keeps its fizz by squeezing out air and putting cap on tightly.

They used to be 5/10 when on sale.

I've entirely quit, but not because I want to. Not because of health reasons. It's because I can't f*cking afford it anymore.
