BJs is offering new members a 1 year "The Club" membership for $20. You will also get a $20 reward after you spend $60.

I've seen some good deals at BJs online, but closest one is 35 minutes compared to Sam's and Costco <10

Go to the customer service desk in the store or call BJs' corporate number. They've always been quick to resolve those sorts of issues for me.
I have a BJ's membership and like it, but as a counterpoint I wanted to share that Costco gas is Top Tier whereas BJ's is not:

But Costco got a better return policy, food court, prices are slightly cheaper for essentials like toilet paper and milk/eggs, coupons are automatically applied and more seasonal/international items. Their avocados are always bad. Their croissants taste better than BJ's.
Both $5 rotisserie chickens are equally good.
FYI Costco may automatically apply their own in-house coupons, but they don't accept general manufacturer coupons.
BJ's has its own in-app/flyer coupons and accepts manufacturer coupons. I often stack BJ's e-coupon + manufacturer print coupon + third party shopping app (ibotta) for the best deal.

Prices generally suck. Selection sucks. Saw burger meat that was literally green in the case.
Bought a quart of half and half and the cashier asked if I wanted to renew. I declined. Costco nearby and a Sam's near our beach home. BJs is mismanaged and likely headed chapter 11. Good riddance.

I'm wondering the same, can't find the answer anywhere. Think it used to be 30 days, not sure if that's still the case.
My BJ's is like 25 minutes away and Costco is 10, but BJ's has some items I like that I can't get at Costco so it's worth an occasional drive. Especially being (mostly, I guess) free membership this first year.

I had issues with shipping on the two occasions I purchased something. This membership could be free and I would take a pass. Not worth the aggravation in my opinion.
