Oh, this one is tempting. Been lurking around looking into a small and light option to get on the go (Asus Zenbook leading so far). However, I do plan on developing on it so uncertain if a Surface Pro would be a good choice for my use.

Do not get. They are not repairable when something happens.

Thanks! Owned 4 surface pro's and not a single one needed repair but all needed more hard drive space! 256gb is basically useless!

The ssd is user replaceable. 256gb is fine for system files and apps. You're not supposed to store media on internal drive Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Have a Surface Pro 6 and love it.... Been looking to upgrade and hearing rumors the 10 will be released this spring...

Wonder if these will be dropping even more in the next weeks.

This is actually the easiest to do repairs on out of the entire lineup.

Apple and MS are living on some other planet; they are so pathetic and still stuck in the early 2000s, I get it; they have good build quality, but how does that justify the premium price tag and pathetic hardware?
Apple still charges 1K and 2K for meager 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD, so is the Surface in this age and era when SSD and RAM are so cheap.
Just stop buying these pathetic laptops, and they will get the message.
256GB SSD.
I know people would come and start commenting that everything is on the cloud, yes, I have a cloud and all, but if they charge $1,000 or $2,000, at least provide decent RAM and SSD.
Fark Apple and MS.
I found that people are just plain stupid and buy these brands because they think everyone is buying them.
Otherwise, there are so many alternates available, I bought the Lenovo Carbon X1 in half the price of this Surface Pro and its much better in every aspect, it doesn't get warm or I would rather say hot like Surface, light weight, easily get around 6 hours battery life.
The Lenovo is a completely different form factor. People have different needs, which is why there's so much variety.

I hear you with the craycray prices. However, Apple makes it hard not to get them. Their M-series chips are truly amazing performance-wise. I don't own an M-series device, but I'm seriously considering an iPad Pro because of the performance.

The problem is that you are still stuck with a phone OS. Only when apple makes a tablet/convertible with MAC OS and a touchscreen, will they ever compete with the Surface.

Pen / touch input is the future for tablet devices. Not a mouse. I've been on Windows for decades, but they lag far behind Apple at mobile computing. You can define it as a "phone OS", but remember you have to simplify the UI for users on the go, and to save battery life. I have no interest in running Windows 11 anywhere off my desk. That's for good reason--its too involved.

Opinions differ. I've been using Surface devices exclusively for 10 years as my only portables.

Opinions vary, but Apple dominates the tablet market.

I have the original surfacebook and the internal battery died. It's a zillion dollars to replace.
