*Sobs regretfully in the corner with his $1,780 S90C*

Wish I waited, I guess grass is always greener, but Sammy OS is just garbage

Aaaahhhh just found reason:

New process of producing OLEDs without rare earth minerals.

"The new process, in simplest terms, involves replacing those rare minerals with not-so-rare -- and therefore more affordable --- minerals. Diving into the science, the process involves grinding manganese bromide with benzyltriphenylphosphonium bromide. That solution is then dissolved into single MnBz crystals, which are used to create a light-emitting device (the LED part of OLED)."

So likely we see prices continue downward!

Wow, I only loosely pay attention to OLED prices and this is a crazy deal. So bad want to upgrade my 75" Sony in the living room, but money is tighter than I like right now and my wife would kill me.

Must look away from SD..

Oh man. Keep finding reasons not to replace Panasonic Plasma but this deal may be too good to pass on.
Got a feeling Panasonic will introduce a OLED or equivalent soon, at least I hope so.

Not to me. I prefer LG over Samsung any day .
Have to agree with on this also.
I had a chance to compare the two(calibrated) and LG produced a more accurate PQ to me.

Another example on how one factor(brightness) doesn't necessarily mean better overall PQ imo.

It might be newer technology but it didn't process content as well as LG imo.
DV support is just a bonus especially since it's becoming more common with content.

The great thing is both are great displays, could not go wrong with either one.

Wow, I thought I got a good deal last week, but this is even better. My TV hadn't shipped yet but Amazon wouldn't price match so I cancel and re-ordered it. Even better since the TV is under 2k now the 4 year warranty is now cheaper since its for TVs $1500 - $2000. Ended up saving another $242.

They have for years and considered top notch, comparable with master series Sony models.
They even support both dynamic HDR formats(DV & HDR10+).

Unfortunately they don't offer sales in the US, would love to see one though!

Bought the tv but passed on the warranty for now. Might be worth the $140 though I guess.

I know what you mean & get why you haven't!
Had a 9th gen calibrated Kuro for 10+ years and only switched(after much contemplation & debate) because of a great deal from a friend!

I get people make a big deal about brightness but it's only one of many factors regarding PQ.
In a light controlled room that Kuro easily held its own to Oled imo!
Plasma was amazing! But OLED is clearly better now that HDR content is readily available at 4k.

Suggest buy with a credit card that doubles the warranty to 2 years.
