*Sobs regretfully in the corner with his $1,780 S90C*

Wish I waited, I guess grass is always greener, but Sammy OS is just garbage

Aaaahhhh just found reason:

New process of producing OLEDs without rare earth minerals.

"The new process, in simplest terms, involves replacing those rare minerals with not-so-rare -- and therefore more affordable --- minerals. Diving into the science, the process involves grinding manganese bromide with benzyltriphenylphosphonium bromide. That solution is then dissolved into single MnBz crystals, which are used to create a light-emitting device (the LED part of OLED)."

So likely we see prices continue downward!

Thanks OP! I ordered last Thursday when it was ~$1922. Amazon refunded the price difference today after contacting them over the phone.

Seriously? lol. How much better of a tv did I just get for a crazy good price by waiting?
Remind me again as I used to have a Kuro as well. What's the ratio of electricity versus an LCD?

Bought and setup the Samsung S89C this past Saturday from BestBuy at $1799. Love it and it looks great. Trying to determine if it makes sense at all to return and get this. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't get all the Samsung hate, Samsung has always been really good to me and I have a lot of their stuff.

Retuning such a large TV will be a task but if there's good reason, I'll do it. 😁
It's not a crazy difference in price so I probably wouldn't if you're happy w the Samsung and they've done you well. That hasn't been my experience w Samsung tvs.
All my LG's have been rock solid.

I don't regret my S90C. It's QLED while the C3 is the old WOLED technology. Yes the Sammy OS isn't great for steaming but buying an Apple TV for $149 cured that issue.

Just price-matched at Best Buy. Incredible deal! Been waiting on this forever!
Is it better to price match and get expensive and reliable geek squad or Amazon asurion 4 yr is also good?

yup, they got lucky. I got an agent who wouldn't price match because of the "limited deal".
I just tried as well and they said NOPE

Oh man. Keep finding reasons not to replace Panasonic Plasma but this deal may be too good to pass on.

Same... I've had my 55" Panasonic for 12 years. I've finally pulled the trigger.

I paid more than this ($1900) for my 65" C1 a few years ago. Great deal.
Paid more for my 65 inch C8 back in 2018. Almost pulled the trigger when it was $1,922 last week, couldn't resist today since Amazon dropped it another $200. Set up for delivery in 2 weeks. if the price drops again, which is highly unlikely, then I'll re-order. That said, great deal.

Thanks for the post and helping me spend money I don't want to spend Wave

At this price point what is everyone's opinion on this 77" C3 vs Sony 85" X90L from Costco?

I'm not even sure what you're talking about. Of course LCD tv's are cheaper to operate. They are also inferior products. I'm not worried about how much I spent on electricity over the last 10 years. The Panasonic Plasma's blew away ALL LCD tvs at the time and are still pretty darn competitive to this day.

I purchased mine last week at $1925 and wanted to get the price difference back. I followed the suggestions earlier and first placed an order. I then called Amazon customer service (888-280-4331) and said "I'd like to speak to a customer rep" to get through the automated system. The rep I spoke to was pleasant. I mentioned to her that I know I can return my first order but I thought that was wasteful and would be fine getting credit. She refunded me $208.10 and said it would take 2-4 hours for the credit to show and then canceled my new order. The call took less than 5 minutes. If I had to do it over again, I probably would've told her not to cancel my order and that I would cancel it myself once the credit showed up.
