*Sobs regretfully in the corner with his $1,780 S90C*
Wish I waited, I guess grass is always greener, but Sammy OS is just garbage
Aaaahhhh just found reason:
New process of producing OLEDs without rare earth minerals.
"The new process, in simplest terms, involves replacing those rare minerals with not-so-rare -- and therefore more affordable --- minerals. Diving into the science, the process involves grinding manganese bromide with benzyltriphenylphosphonium bromide. That solution is then dissolved into single MnBz crystals, which are used to create a light-emitting device (the LED part of OLED)."
C4 is confirmed still using OLED EVO without MLA, it will likely be a TV with slightly boosted full screen brightness(+30-40nit) and every other equal. But if you don't need dolby that much, I would say the s89c is also worth considering
Got my TV yesterday. Its amazing! The delivery folks brought it up to the living room, unpacked it, and tested it. I then proceeded to put it on the wall (already had the mount in place). No way in the world I would have successfully gotten that box up all my stairs.
I've been waiting for $1500 price as well but couldn't hold off on this deal. Is this a better TV than the Sammy S89C/90C?
Depends on what you are looking for. Both have awful operating system. The LG will do Dolby vision, why the Sammy will do HDR10+. Most people can't tell the difference in most scenarios, but the Samsung will get significantly brighter since it uses QD OLED screen compared to the regular old school OLED used by LG. I actually bought both the LG C3 and the Sammy S90, put them side by side to compare, and returned the C3 immediately. I feel like as humans we are atteacred to brighter screens, and there is a difference for sure
Is anyone who got this deal having trouble with it not actually shipping? Mine has been stuck as "delivery date pending" since Monday. Support keeps telling me I'll get a shipping notification soon and there was a warehouse software issue, but I'm getting suspicious.
Edit: I now have a shipping date, after talking to three customer service reps this week, and then finally asking for a supervisor today. The last customer service rep (before the supervisor) told me that I just needed to cancel and reorder. Not a chance.
Yes. Mine was scheduled to be delivered yesterday. They wanted to bring it tomorrow. Wife and I work so I had to reschedule for next Saturday.

Did you select the mounting option? Did that cost more? Or did you just ask them to do it and then tip them for the time?

Nope, I mounted it myself (err with the wife's help). Just needed screw on the supporting brackets, and lift it onto the existing mount. I even left the stand on till it was mounted then unscrewed it. Didn't add much weight.

So likely we see prices continue downward!

I've been told that you can get them for 2k but maybe now less for the 77 c3 on GT?
