Dumb question but…did you put your phone on it yet?
I close the vent so it doesn't heat up the phone. Usually that's enough. Especially on short drives. On longer drives, I don't have it on max heat I have it at a comfortable 68⁰ to 72⁰ maybe 74⁰ and with the vent closed it never really gets hot. I run accubattery pro to monitor the battery temp.
