I have this. It does have a cooling issue but if you prop it up a little then it works fine and doesn't overheat. It's not a gaming laptop but can be used to play games. The screen is beautiful and responsive. It feels pretty nice even though it's not a metal body. I don't like how the numpad is laid out but for this price I think it's a good buy.

So can anyone tell me if this is a $400 worthwhile upgrade over this one with similar cpu, RTX 3050 and a lower resolution 2.8K OLED?

Give me 16:10 or give me death. I'll never own another 16:9 laptop. If you want to game at all then the 4060 is going to be miles better.

I hope you know that this is 16:10, too. Your comment hints you don't.

2880:1620 is actually 1.78 or even more "squared" than 16:10 Wink

it's a stupid vent design too. i have the much less powerful version and it has cooling issues. tiny vents to begin with, and then the screen hinge is in front of the main set of them. there is a side vent but it's the rear that expels most of it.
if i have my encryption backup software doing a full scan with the lid closed, even on a cooling stand, the damn thing overheats and shuts off. basically have to keep the screen lid open at all times even if im using a couple external monitors.
and this thing has a 4060 inside.....it will cook itself to an early death in no time.

im debating taking mine back to be honest

Slow down and look at what I was replying to. I was referring to the laptop he linked, which is 16:9.

No actually 16/9 = 1.78.

4/3 would be closer to a square.
