It's minuscule. It's ridiculous that they make them with such a small amount of storage. It's so they sell people iCloud space.

128gb is quite small

The iPad Pro is the most overpowered Apple product in its entire history. I've purchased two for my mom over the years, but never again. The base level iPad does anything and everything you'll ever need. Without a file system, there is no need for power that you will never be able to exploit. Unfortunately, all iPads are effectively a large iPhone a decade-and-a-half after its release. I can't fathom why someone would still purchase the Pro, but I bouth two, so there you go! Unless you're a creator, its laughable overkill.

I like the LiDAR for measuring things, the mini led is easier on the eyes when reading and watching movies, Face ID is light years better than touch to me, 120 refresh is a HUGE difference if u go back. Imo the pro is easily worth it if it's in your budget. I agree on the processor tho, m1,m2,m3 will be the same

My mom has no need for anything greater than 128GB. She uses a 64GB iphone for years and never said one word about it running out of space. She uses it for surf the net, check emails, YouTube, FaceTime, the occasional spreadsheet and she accesses her photo albums she has saved in the cloud when we send her pics and vids of the grandkids, No reason to spend more on something she'll never use. I have a feeling that many her age group have no need for more than 128GB. Its crazy people complain when theres no options, and they do the same when companies offer more options.. SMH

My iPad Pro 2018 is only 44gb used

I'd agree that the base model iPad is far and away the best choice for the vast majority of users. I'd include myself in that but I am spoiled by the optically bonded/laminated display that only the Mini, Pro, and Air have. Once they start putting that in all iPads. I will likely downgrade from my M1 Pro 11".

Did they incorporate the lamination on 10th gen iPad?

Any musicians out there? The 12.9 is apparently good for reading sheet music from a music stand, as a replacement to actual paper, but at this price, jeez. The Amazon renewed version (without cellular) is about 50 bucks cheaper btw. I'm worried about getting any iPad that is too old since they stop supporting os upgrades on older ones I think.

Those iPad Pros are solid. I am still running the 2015 12.9 pro, and almost 10 years later it runs everything I need perfectly - even racing games(I stopped upgrading the OS a couple of years ago to prevent Apple from slowing it). Mostly watch Youtube on it, the picture and sound are perfect. This is A9 chip from iPhone 6S - no problem.

I have iPad 9th gen strictly for college because I got a good deal on it the other week for $160, iPhone 15 pro max & Samsung s24 ultra, 15" m1 max MacBook for editing on the go, OLED Samsung s8+ tablet for content consumption (again got a good deal from
Slick deals a few years back), 65" QDOLED Samsung tv in the living room, Alienware QDLED monitor & 48" LG OLED TV for my PC editing / gaming setup

I want to get an iPad Pro for photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro, davinici resolve but am waiting for an OLED model to make it worth the purchase because other than that I can edit on my MacBook or PC, but my MacBook is too big sometimes to lug around lol. The iPad Pro will also replace my 9th gen iPad for school but I want to make sure if I'm going to spend 1k it'll have a beautiful screen that I'm use to

Hoping the new iPads announces this year will have OLED

How is it when using as a second screen? Been debating getting an older, low spec 12.9" for use as a second screen while traveling and use as a tablet for media and kids.

You can't even download Final Cut Pro on base model iPads but you can download and use davinci resolve for basic video edits

Again TRY using Davinci on a base model! You NEED the pro or at the very least Air…

Yeah, it does depend a lot on what you do on the IPAD , if you are using it for work or video editing or other advanced create work, you would need the POWER and higher processor and more storage!
There is no need for anyone to critize anyone planning to buy an IPAD,.... and you do understand this, and pointed out that if you use the programs you just listed , why you need higher tier IPAD. Makes sense.

Now, I and tons of us are just using the lower IPAD's 9th gen and higher models just to do simple stuff like surf the web, watch movies, and listen to music , and facetime, and other cool apps and mid-range games on these devices. So that is why I picked up the IPAD 9th gen with 64gb. It is great, I am using about 18 gb with games on it and OS, with about 44 gb free. I could remove apps and games I'm not using, to give me more free storage. Also with the IPAD you get iCloud 5 gb Storage free. And with new ipad I get 3 months music, 3 months apple tv, 3 months arcade, and other perks.
So for 249 dollars new, the IPAD 9th gen is great for me.

The discussion is rightly on, what an individual wants to use the device for, ... is the device for 4 year old, or over 65 year old, ...or casual user having it in their lap as the watch stuff on Big HDTV screen, and just research stuff on the ipad or chat, post in forum rooms, email.
Why the casual ageism? I know older folks who do more intense computing tasks than folks half their age.

How much you want to bet something like 80% of these purchased end up getting used for browsing, email and candy crush?

Love my Apple (and Microsoft Surface) products, but this has always been a strange one to me.

It's a big deal. Honestly, for ME. The iPad Pro is worth the premium just for that. The LiDAR/120 refresh are just icing.

Face ID and 120 pro-motion makes a huge difference even for just "browsing". Candy crush looks way better on a 120, microled. The laminated display is crucial for a sunny day outside too. Get the pro if it's in your budget. Face ID alone makes a huge difference, almost a different experience all together

LOL! I was just saying if you read my comment , some people buy IPAD 9th gen to gift to 4-7 year olds, and also some older people like the ipad 9th gen for casual use. I'm in my 70's and I love my IPAD 9th gen I picked up for 249 dollars last week, and I have plenty of gadgets younger people have.

Some people need to do more intensive tasks on the IPAD, and of course it makes sense they get a more powerful IPAD, (I totally agree).
