iPad Pro 11/12 are great, I'm confused why you would buy one though for your mom if she is such a casual user? I mean that right explains your disappointment, you are spending almost double the price compared to the regular iPad.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger when it made the front page. I wish I could have used my points I had with the Visa I use on Amazon. I do worry a little about the age.

I wouldn't worry too much about the age, because this is still a pretty speedy iPad and should be good for a number of years going forward.

Apple still supports many of their older models, that are much older than 2001.

This means that in January 2023 Apple was supporting ten-year-old iPads with security updates, while in September 2023 the company issued a security update that was compatible with the then nine-year-old iPad Air 2.
