I tried with the refurb Beam gen 2 a few days ago, and no, they didn't stack.
I have an arc in bedroom but it doesn't even get used as kids are sleeping time I actually want to watch somethingโฆ. Have to move I suppose.
Yeah, I have an Arc as well. I decided to order refurbished One SL for the rears. Now, to acquire a sub.

My personal opinion is this- we started with an ARC and the sound was nice but underwhelming as I was coming from a 10" sub, center speaker, and a pair of bookshelf speakers. We added the SUB next and it made a huge difference and sounded as good as my previous setup while taking up less space. Then there was a sale and we got the ERA 300s and I am VERY impressed. Just watched Dune part 1 a few nights ago and the sound was AWESOME. We watch a fair amount of Atmos content so we get good use out of the surround capabilities.
By the way, while most of my Sonos products have been operating well, I had one go bad (wireless nightmare and ultimately refused to even factory rest - becoming a brick) ... and that happened to be one of the refurbished ones. So I'm a little gun shy of refurbs but that could just be bad luck/coincidence.
Away from the kids? Not gonna lie that I haven't fantasized the same one or ten timesโฆ

Reviews aren't really mixed. These have 3 physical surround channels each (left right up) and produce much more convincing surround sound effects compared to the Ones which have a single channel each and the listener can obviously tell precisely where the channel is coming from.
Where it's a bit mixed is that in surround duty the era 300 shuts off its big primary channel because the indirect firing back ring is more suitable for surround effects. It just feels like a shame Sonos doesn't sell a special surround speaker that's just the back half instead of having you buy a pair of $450 speakers and leave the primary channel disabled.
