well, for around the same price or less, I would recommend people look into something like the Pioneers I mentioned - if you can find them. By most accounts they'll get you much better sound than these.
The ones that are no longer manufactured, only available used, and typically list on eBay and such for $200+? 🤨😉

That "if you can find them" is a rather significant "if" there. Most people aren't going to be able to find those at under $100 if they're looking for speakers right now. It's cool that you lucked out on them, and I'd agree that the SP-BS22-LR is a better speaker than this one, but they're not a practical recommendation for most people.

Back to my original comment, for $100/pair, these make for a solid budget speaker option for most people who want to buy speakers now and don't want to go much above that budget. For those willing to spend more, expanding your budget to the neighborhood of $250+ and you get into significantly better options, especially if you're willing to wait for a sale.

pretty bad review here
Not a fan of these measurement reviews. It's mostly data. I don't know about you, but I have never bought a speaker based on measurements. I let my own ears to the judging.

Same here. I only buy neumann speakers. Cry once, buy once.

How long have you cried for?

I suspect that these Klipsh speakers can't beat my Edifier as computer speakers in the similar price range.

Electronics Expo used to be an electronics store in NJ like Best Buy or the Wiz (to anyone who remember that). I believe the name was bought out by someone else years ago.
Electronics Expo is still around, just not as many stores as they used to have.

Some general comments regarding these speakers. Yes they are very much budget minded in price and construction quality (Low grade components). Voxx owns Klipsch and Jamo and there is significant parts sharing between the brands.

Independent tests have repeatedly shown that Klipsch greatly exaggerates their sensitivity values. Granted many brands do not meet their rated sensitivity, but klipsch budget models are the furthest away from their ratings.

This particular model does not really perform well in frequency response (Very exaggerated high end), so these are bright speakers. if you like that then great, but it is an issue for anyone that gets listening / ear fatigue. also off axis response is nowhere near as good as most other speakers. so the combination of erratic FR and off axis dispersion makes these a lot more difficult to eq properly. The impedance on these also goes much lower than the rated spec meaning more load against your amp.

You may struggle to find them for $65 like I did locally, but not impossible because they were very popular for a long time. For what it's worth, the ones I bought had been up for several weeks. You can definitely get them for cheaper than 200 on ebay as well.

My broader point wasn't to suggest these particular speakers, but to do your research and see if you can find something better for the same amount of money or less - which I don't think will be that difficult if you read reviews, google around, look locally etc. But sure, if people don't want to spend the time and aren't very picky, then maybe the convenience of these wins out.

Although as someone else said, it's possible some powered (and new/readily available) Edifiers would be better for around the same price. I had the 1280Ts for years and they were pretty decent for the $80 or whatever I paid for them.
