No need to root - use TetherFi [izzysoft.de] for free. If you must stick to the Play Store, there are apps like PDANet+, SecureTether, Netshare, etc. - I've personally used the first two in the past. SecureTether is free if you don't need anything above 256Kbps, otherwise all the Play Store options are paid with trial versions.

Technically it's 10GB of data because after than it says it will slow down and usually it's to the speeds that can't be used but to claim unlimited they do this BS wording while relieving themselves from getting sued by providing few Kbps speeds that you can't even use as GPS sometimes.

agree! six months too short. 2 years too long and not sure if it can last that long. so one year is best for me

Surprisingly no one asked what towers they use. FYI it is Verizon. I saw this deal a month, but chose Boost instead because my phone is a factory unlocked one, works better with GSM

There is no CDMA, all carriers are LTE/5G now which is part of GSM technology. It all depends on what bands your phone supports
