I believe this was $84.98 on Saturday with the code. Does this automatically unlock in 60 days.

All TF unlock in 60 days (& have for over 2 yrs since Verizon bought TF brands).
The unlock policy is spelled out on their website.

A friend of mine has the A14 5G and it automatically unlocked in 60 days..
I assume this is true for the A15 5G..

I understand that the phone gets unlocked after 60 days with tracfone but is it unlocked when you get it and then becomes locked when you put the tf sim card in?

You need to do more research & verify if your Canadian carrier will accept this specific TF model number phone once it's unlocked.
Just like in the US not all phones are accepted by all carriers, some are more restrictive.

While the phone unlocks after 60 days (so that you can put another SIM card in), the APN settings are locked on Tracfone phones by Samsung and there is no way to change them or add a new one without using an APN app from the google play store. So your calling and texting will work on your new carrier, but not data.

Thanks for pointing this out. I don't see how this counts as "unlocking" the phone.
