Interesting. I was going to post the opposite. I have one of these and maybe 5 of the smaller oval ones and one of the e-ink ones. They're super accurate and you can calibrate them if they are not right on the money. The oldest oval one is around 3 years now and has been outside and still works great.

I agree with the above post, BT is a bit of a pain, it takes a while to handshake and then takes a bit to download, especially if you are pushing the two week max internal memory and are far away. Still, I enjoy using them and it's really interesting to see temp and humidity in places like basements, attics, and other random places and have a historical graph for it all.

Yes, Wifi would be nice, and yes, it's odd that the app has a temperature alert but it only works if you leave the app open. Kind of pointless.

All in all, at this price, I still think it's a solid deal.
I've got 4, minus whale add 2 more. I just wish the app would auto update... Pulling up and waiting for the BT to connect is a slight PITA.

I have 3 of these. They're great for the price but downloading the historical data from the unit to the app is a pain. First, your phone has to be within inches of the unit to have any hope of getting data downloaded. Then you pull down on the screen to initiate the download and it shows that the update completes in a couple of seconds, but that just updated the current live values. You then have to repeatedly pull down the screen over and over and over until after 6 or 7 pulls for the app to decide to pull the historical data. Even then it often gets stuck at 93% and you have to repeat the process. There's no way to just force it to download all data at will.

Knowing what I know now, and assuming the WiFi models don't have the same issue, I would have paid the extra amount to get the WiFi models.

"4 AAA batteries required." EACH?

Q&A: 2 AAA batteries per device.

Not the same product, those don't have bluetooth connectivity to an app that lets you track temp and humidity changes over time and monitor remotely. I use the govee ones with my govee heater and to monitor humidity in my half subterranean garage. They work incredibly well. Just got the e ink ones and looks like I'll need to do the battery hack if the coin batteries are actually expensive.
no bluetooth, no app, all reasons to buy the one I linked!

You can wire one 18500 battery or 2 AAs battery to the back. Or if you want something a little better, dollar tree has those cheap led string lights that work on 2 AAs. If you cut the battery compartment from those lights, then you attach the positive and negative wires to the inside of the govee thermometer. The batteries will last a long time and will be cheap to replace them when it's time.

I just bought the ink ones because you can see them easier. I attached an 18500 battery for now.
Any easier/reversible way to attach the wires besides soldering?

I found the bluetooth range to be very impressive with these, much better than the range of my bluetooth Wyze scale. Even picks up the signal fine in the next room over with the govee thermometer inside a stainless steel fridge.

Bought the 3-pak at Govee site using $5 off coupon with existing account. I can see Amazon is a good choice if only need 2 and can use Amazon Delivery Day option to get 6% back.

In case someone misunderstood it, the sensors of Govee wifi thermometer hygrometer (e.g. H5100s in the H5100+H5151 combination) are not wifi-capable themselves. They are connected to a WiFi gateway (H5151) through Bluetooth. Any other Govee Bluetooth thermometer hygrometer that can work with H5151 (e.g. H5104 that I have tested and can confirm) can be considered wifi version if you already have a H5151 WiFi gateway. Not sure if H5075 in this post works with H5151.

I have several of the bluetooth versions to monitor under the house in my crawl space, attic and bonus room. While they don't provide a protective function they help me monitor the humidity and temperature every couple of weeks and provide a trend. They have an alarm function to show if any of the monitored temps/humidity went into alarm. Turns graph RED. Beats climbing under the house to check the dehumidifier or in the attic. Batteries normally last about a year. Will also alert if batteries need to be replaced before they go dead. Normally a couple of weeks warning on the battery. Yes, you do have to connect with Bluetooth to see the alerts but that is not an issue for my application.
