I have this set on one of my desktops. It's good for what it is. Not as good as my Logitech MX Keys and Mouse, but that set cost about 10 times what this cost. Still has the original batteries after 4 months. Disposable batteries, but decent life with the keyboard mouse.

Thinking about getting another set at this price.

It says rechargeable but it also mentions batteries on the Amazon page. Does anyone know if this is rechargeable or needs batteries?

And on the Dell website it starts stating Battery Type: Wireless. But then says a bunch of stuff about batteries which would make more sense with such a long life.

One USB port. One dongle works for both the keyboard and the mouse.

I have many computers, with all price ranges of keyboards and mice. Some several hundred dollars. For 17 bucks, can't really go wrong with this set.

Needs throw away batteries.

Mouse uses one AA, Keyboard uses two AAA. I'm on my first set of batteries (Duracell), four months so far.

It's not confusing at all and I'm not confusing Dell's software with Logitech's (Dell's is not called Unifying any longer, btw). The DELL pairing software does not work with this keyboard, period. It sees it, and when you follow the instructions to PAIR it, it identifies the KB or mouse and then says it's not compatible with the pairing software.

The dongle provides an encrypted connection, similar to Logitech Bolt... different from Logitech Unify. Some corporate devices are locked down and require this or Logitech Bolt for wireless keyboard/mouse.
