I'm currently looking at buying a washer. Which model do you have? I'm looking at the simple 4.7 top load impeller model.
They're probably pretty old now tho lol. I bought them brand new at home depot because they were having this Samsung sale at the time. Got the warranty and everything too, but never had to use it.
Washer model no. Wf45k6200aw/a2
Dryer model no. Dv45k6200gw/a3
Granted in hindsight American made appliances seem to last longer for whatever reason. They don't look as sleek though
I have their powergrill microwave, paid for the most expensive model at the time. The damn thing nearly burned my house down several times. I've come home to the microwave+powergrill being on, seemingly for hours. The unit started pressing its own buttons randomly, usually the number 7. Samsung repaired it 5 times, replacing the door twice, even out of warranty. Then it started blowing fuses. In the end they refunded me what I paid for it.
They're washer and dryers have needed yearly repairs. The drive roller on the units didn't have bearings. Just a nylon washer on a metal post. Eventually these get dirty, squeal themselves to death and burn up//melt. Replaced twice under warranty before I bought my own with bearings.
The drum belt on the dryer slipped off and broke with a year.
The rollers for the entire drum needed replacing after 3 years, squealing like crazy. Luckily parts are now available cheap 3rd party on amazon.
The front door seal on the washer has been replaced twice. Expensive part even 3rd party.
Again I bought the most expensive models at the time (2016) and paid for an extended 3 year warranty.
Any chance they've improved build quality in 8 years?

Thanks. Tough to decide with such contrasting views on reliability.

You're welcome. My parents still have the same Samsung ones they bought 20 years ago if that helps lol. They changed out the belt and bearings for the dryer, but that's about it

It's a $180 microwave, I mean it's not like you're buying a fridge…
