It weighs only 13 pounds so i can easily lug it around in the house or back and forth to the car every day without really thinking about it.
Sure i would want a generator with more wattage however that would mean a heavier generator.
Comes in handy at 512watts however with limits.
fully charged I can run a small 400 watt heater for 60 minutes before it goes to 0 (not sure what scenario that would help but to give an idea of abilities)
LOV THIS:fully charged i can run a 27 quart rougherv car fridge for about 12 to 35 hours depending if i have the refrig set at 0 degrees or 33 F degrees.
It is a great starter generator to learn solar.

I first had a 100 watt panel but sent it back.
as i mentioned. the generator when fully or nearly full ran my 27qt bogada refrig run for many hours to a day and a half. at -4F , ran for 8 hours? cant recall exactly or more.
If you get 1, I'd advise to cycle it many times. Both failures were when I had load on the unit, and all of a sudden it went from 60-70% charged to zero -instantly. Didn't experience the issue when I was just running on DC under light load.
To me, the fan is rather irritating. It will come on when loads are in the 30-40w range, not instantly, but it will come on eventually. It's not horrible, but it's not a silent fan either. I find that I'm now using the "milk crate" units that I built, much more than I use this, mainly because of the noise of the fan, and the milk crate units are much more efficient. Someone else mentioned that you get about 400wh out of this, and that matches my test results. It's a little less than 80% efficient on AC. It's not bad, but it's not my favorite.
