The difference is probably going to Slickdeals. This is post by a Paid SD Staff Influencer - they don't promote the best offers for us, they promote the best offers for them 😕

Churning them negatively affects your score with ChexSystems and Early Warning Services just as doing do with credit cards affects your credit score. To me, that doesn't really matter. I've been with a few banks for many years and don't chase bonuses on those. Moreover, there are always going to be banks that want your business even if your Chex score is mediocre Aside from that, the main issue is just keep tracking of them all. They all have specific terms to avoid fees, some have early closure penalties, etc. I track it all in Excel and it goes pretty smoothly.
Thanks for this info, I didn't even know anything about a Chex score. I tend to do a few of these types of deals every year. Usually the deposit requirements are lower but it's pretty easy to farm a few of these each year.

From all the comments here, it seems like US Bank isn't worth dealing with.

Comment I replied to said "$500 up until a few days ago." Post you reference ended 2.5 months ago. So I suspect it's different.

Slickdeals is taking a chunk of the kickback, and seemingly recently hasn't shared at all. What happened to Slickdeals Rewards where you guys offered some CashBack on these lucrative affiliate posts?

I wouldn't trust them. I opened an account last year and never got the bonus. They were able to confirm that I used the promo code when I opened my account and I made the qualifying deposits. Every time I called them they would come up with an excuse and had to escalate and that they would call back but never did. Gave up after 5 months.

This was news to me as well

Quick googling and I was able to download my report free
https://www.fool.com/the-ascent/b...exsystems/
Apparently to actually get access to your score you have to mail or fax a request.

Edit: Fool article is incorrect,

I opened this two weeks ago, transferred my initial deposit, and within 2 days they closed my account.

I got no email notification, I just couldn't login anymore. No CSR will tell me why and I have yet to receive the written reason via snail mail.

Wtf usbank

FYI

1) you want to turn on paperless statements or it will charge you

2) us bank is one of the only banks I have ever seen charge you a fee to deposit cash.

3) my deposit bonus on the last deal (750) didn't go thru after the 90 day period. Ended up the person who setup my account didn't put the proper promo code in when they opened it.

Just a heads up.

Did you still get the bonus applied later?

No such print is listed. So, I figure just deplete the account to 0 via ACH before going to close it so they don't pull a clawback. This is all assuming they even pay the bonus to begin with, USBank has a bad reputation like Citi when it comes to these.

I checked another blog that I go to for these deals, it's the same bonus offer and code. The only difference is that SD posters are too lazy to post all the pertinent details that bank churners need to evaluate the offer in full (e.g. maintenance fee, how to avoid the fee, how long to keep account open, when the bonus is paid, etc.)

I must be a glutton for punishment, had issues with them paying out years ago and opened an account today. Going to move the money to an interest bearing account once the deposits hit and doing no more than the 2 required for the $5000. The $400 is my minimum to bother with one of these, so let's see if it hits. Going to a branch is a time waste, lines for tellers, lines for the 1 banker and endless time to have them call about this. I'll call if the bonus doesn't post after the wait period, and call it a fool me twice experience if it doesn't.

USBank and Citi were the biggest game players with bonuses pre-pandemic. So long as it isn't money that's being tied up that could be earning interest, it was minimal effort to do the paperwork for a direct deposit change. If you do a bonus that requires a large sum to be deposited, it had better earn interest on top of the bonus, else it's pointless.

Same thing happened to me. I'm dealing with this right now. So frustrating
