I played around earlier today in the non-Edu store, and the only "extra" watchband left to add to my cart was an S/M in gray. Not sure what they are showing now? The free band has been active for a few days, always with only the gray band. They had the M/L available on previous days though
The extra watch band is the "deal" right now, so if you want that, cool. Otherwise I think we will see better prices on the watch after the "free extra watch band" deal is over.
I don't see the bands as a bonus since you can get a pack of them for a few bucks.
I like the previous generation Samsung OEM bands. I buy those for $10 each, usually the "Hybrid Leather" in tan, blue, and black. Silicone on the inside, leather exterior
I know a lot of people like the cheap bands though
Gosh want to keep my watch 5 pro from prev fp deal but it's way too big for my wrist
I want to keep that as well, but i returned it.
Was it for the same reason?
Yeah for same reason

can you post a link to where you get the OEM hybrid leather for $10. id love to grab a pair
The bezel as volume control is very convenient in the gym and on the bicycle.
After the latest update, Amazon Music is not stable running in the background. It often closes after finishing a song. Takes a couple of taps to keep it on top.
is the trade in worth it?
Amazon's search function is screwed up, they like to push sponsored bands. But you can sometimes follow links at the bottom of these pages to similar bands.
Where the price has gone up, copy the Samsung code and do a Google search. You should be able to find it elsewhere. Most are $10 or less.
1. This is a very nice tan Hybrid Leather- in "Camel"- for $10
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B099LVJD66
2. This is a Blue Hybrid Leather that has gone up in price. I'll post it so you can use the code ( ET-SHR89LNEGUJ ) to search for it. Both this and the tan look very nice look with a Silver Watch 6 Classic, or other silver case. It is up to $23 right now, with a "Like New" used from a 3rd party seller for $15. Maybe eBay?:

3. This is a black Ridge Sport. It's a fluoroelastomer band that is very nice. Most of the latest Samsung and Apple bands are fluoroelastomer. It is similar to silicone. $10:

4. This is a S/M Silver Ridge Sport band for $7, probably the same material, although it doesn't specify:
https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-Ga...B0BKR7MKCF
5. This is also a S/M. It's a very nice (older generation) leather band, tan with white stitching. It has a thinner "body" too. It just barely fits me with 2 holes to spare, as I really need an M/L, but it looks great on a silver watch:

6. This is a newer 6th Generation Black Fabric band (with the quick release) for $15. I have this, but haven't tried it yet: Some people really like it:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C9QR8KR2
7. This is also a 6th Generation band that is a bit more expensive, the Extreme Sport for $26. It is a good band for sports. I switched to this when my leather band(s) can't take daily rinsing after my workout (leather conditioner helps):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C81TG1X9
It is the same price at Best Buy, and there an Open Box Excellent available for $17 (I really shouldn't post these, I love to shop bands. Oh well....)
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sams...Id=65480
Note: There are a number of other 6th Generation bands on that last Amazon page, for the Extreme Sport. It is easier to find see the prices on a mobile phone, but I don't think there are a lot of deals yet.

I'll share this article from the NY Times Wirecutter on Apple bands. It isn't directly pertinent, of course, but they talk about a lot of the different materials, looks, and how to tell the quality of a band: It may give you some ideas of what to look for. There are especially a lot of 3rd party leather and metal bands:
https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutte...s-we-like/
They said the no-name, third party bands were very hit or miss. They did find good ones, but they couldn't recommend specific ones, as the weird "brands" pop up and disappear too quickly, so they couldn't find them again later.
There are some folks here who share links at times. Just check to make sure they aren't shilling. (There are no marketing links in any of my posts above. These. are all items I have purchased)

I will say I love my Silver, 43mm, Watch 6 Classic. I find the bezel much easier to use than capacitive touch when my hands are wet, like when I'm working out or in the pool. It's also much more fun. I like the smaller watch case too, and the silver look. Obviously, YMMV.
I wear it all day and at night for sleep tracking. It is usually at about 63-66% in the morning. I charge it while I have coffee in the morning and am set for the day. Although I don't use the "Always On" display, or use GPS too often. GPS kills all watches fairly quickly, even my older Garmins
Cheers! Good luck
Michael
omg thank you so much. I did not expect to get a wikipedia entry for a response lol. much appreciated!!
