I actually installed this on Thanksgiving day and ran into issues, but their tech support team was very helpful and responsive, even helping me by reviewing pics of my installation and sending me back annotated pics showing what they wanted me to test and rectify. Just a great experience.
I have a Lennox smart thermostat that came with my heat pump at our main home that was like a $2k option, and the ecobee literally does all the same stuff and more for 1/10th the price. For $200 I think this is a great deal.
The only dig on it is that it's a poor wireless speaker. They advertise this as a feature but sound quality and volume are just awful and remind me of a $5 stocking stuffer bluetooth speaker. Given the size of the unit I don't think this is a surprise, just don't expect much from it for this use.
No, I never started using those
Or just once? My utility company website is 🗑️ half the links on the site end up 404'd.
The way ours works is by calendar year and you can get 3 rebates per year per account.
I do like that I can make the Thermostat remotely turn on my evaporative cooler when it gets to a certain temperature in the house. The sensors are great as we have 1 zone for a tri-level house and keeping a sensor in the primary bedroom makes it easy to keep it comfortable in those other rooms when we are in there.

Why I didn't like the Ecobee?
1. The temp of the unit was hot (yes electronics is hot), behind was insulated. I can set-the offset to adjust bla bla..
2. When I set the temp to e.g. 78 it would power cycle... get to that temp & power cycle / stop.. I had to adjust the offset again.. for temp, so if you set it to 78, make it go to 77 basically.
3. The info far as usage etc, it has a ton more info than Nest, however you HAVE TO LOG INTO YOUR Ecobee with a computer to see all of that. I don't really care about all the -analytics but I'd like to at least see e.g. like the Nest has.... shows AC / Heater ran for 3 hours yesterday on the app.
4. Note, Ecobee support was very helpful with my scenarios and such, I ultimately didn't feel like the Ecobee was worth $200+ & returned it to Costco. I had a Nest gen 1 and went back to a Nest Gen 3. I really like the Nest Gen 3 now. All in all, if you get the Ecobee, it is FULLY customizable & some of that customization, is needed to get it dialed in. Do you want to do / mess with that? Up to you. Hope this helps.
