No way
Oh god it's back 🥵
These outperform the PB2000 pro IIRC but without the app or ability to run in sealed mode. An insane deal for $699 when the PB2000 pro is $1100.

There is also a volume knob. Gain directs how "soon" the bass kicks in. The lower you set it, the lower the bass needs to be to actually kick in. The volume knob controls how loud that bass is when it does kick in.
Gain is effectively a synonym for volume. You're describing a high pass crossover, not a gain/volume knob.

how does this compare to the speedwoofer 12S?
Annihilates it. Not even close. Speedwoofer 12S at full bore is like this at 3/10.

FWIW, Klipsch makes a ton of junk, but this is platinum for silver prices.

This sub is insane for the price. Just buy it. After owning many subs over the years... this one can't be beat for $700. Not even close. Has a 5 year warranty. The Klipsch sub amp issues are a thing of the past and don't apply to the new line of subs. Easily the best value subwoofer on the market.

Warning though - it is large. Make sure you have the space.

Thanks my bad, on Klipsch it literally says volume on that knob lol so assumed the other was for gain. But either way they should be used in tandem to tune a sub to a given space based on what you are wanting out of it.

I went back and edited it, thanks again.

For the audio/home theater experts, how much of an upgrade is this from a Klipsch RW-12d sub? How much of a difference will I notice? Thanks in advance.

Surprised that no one mentioned the knob goes to 11. Smilie

Massive. It would prob be like having 4 or even 6 of those. Even then I would take this.

Yes, a major step up. They're not even comparable.

So, I know I'm being pedantic, but...

A gain knob controls how much amplification is applied. A volume knob controls the output. Effectively, they do the same thing most of the time, controlling volume, since if you control the amplificartion level, you control the output level.

It is fair to say that a high pass filter controls the volume or the gain at and above a frequency, but that's not how most people think of it. It's usually more of a rapid cutoff or a filter that blocks.

I have my sub set up with nines, and they have a built in high pass, so i just disable the high pass on the sub itself by turning it to the maximum frequency. I control the volume/gain with an app.

I bought 2 Jamo 10s and was really disappointed with the result. Time to upgrade. In for one (to start).

You will notice cleaner deeper bass that sounds incredibly better than your two 10" Jamo

Yeah. And the Klipsch's I have all have a volume knob, probably a gain, but they label it volume. They also have a low pass filter (not a high pass filter, not to be pedantic, lol). I just confused the term gain for low pass filter earlier. Thanks again.
