Granted, many users will never need to pump these speakers at full volume right beside another brand and the price makes it far easier to forgive but it might be worth looking into if you have experience with other party speakers that set your expectations higher than this might be able to match
I ended up replacing it with a jbl partybox which is in a completely different league of course, I just bit the bullet on expenditure to be happy with the purchase.
It was fun to independently run kareoke off of youtube and just have this play the vocals from the mic. Works for that just fine and I added a second mic in the guitar port (clearer sound, just not as loud as the mic port).
I hope my input helps someone decide if this is right for them or not!

Got 2 at Costco for 150 each for a thanksgiving party. Having 2 connected in stereo for a wide soundstage is nice, especially since 2 of them are worth the price of 1 JBL partybox110.
Don't get me wrong, the JBL partybox series are still MILES ahead in sound quality, loudness, bass, etc.
- punchy sound but mediocre sub bass, it's not gonna shake your whole house or pop and break your windows like a JBL.
- don't expect 8hrs of battery life, my 2 units never got more than 3 hours.
- expect some harsh sibilance at higher volumes as the DSP isnt programmed well.
TLDR I think you get what you pay for.
