Klipsch quality has for sure been diluted in the last 10+ years

I just went down a rabbit hole of party speaker comparison videos on YouTube and I hoped this speaker was going to be able to hold its own against more popular models like the JBL 110. It seems like it isn't necessarily a bad speaker but doesn't hold up in a head to head comparison by way of sound quality or sheer volume.

Granted, many users will never need to pump these speakers at full volume right beside another brand and the price makes it far easier to forgive but it might be worth looking into if you have experience with other party speakers that set your expectations higher than this might be able to match

For $150 at Costco new this is a good deal. At Klipsch retail $350+ it's a joke. This thing plays moderately loud for it's size. I haven't heard the JBL 110 or 310 but my guess is they are both better than this, but cost quite a bit more. If you can score one of these Klipsch XXLs at this price I would get one. Kids also love having the mic. As a side, my guitar input doesn't work but I'm not even going to deal with it. The most annoying thing about it is that the volume isn't real time, so you turn it up and it's delayed by 1-2 seconds before it actually changes.

I bought this speaker at Costco and ended up giving it away to my nephews. It is average at best and due to microphone distortion a higher levels, and the sound output doesn't match its appearance as a PA speaker at all. It seems the drivers are underpowered and the fidelity is non existent. Very similar in sound profile to the famed $99 costco ion speaker, which is ok for its intended purpose (park blockrocker). Ok at this price point if you temper your expectations. Mic+speaker for $99 is hard to beat.
I ended up replacing it with a jbl partybox which is in a completely different league of course, I just bit the bullet on expenditure to be happy with the purchase.

It was fun to independently run kareoke off of youtube and just have this play the vocals from the mic. Works for that just fine and I added a second mic in the guitar port (clearer sound, just not as loud as the mic port).

I hope my input helps someone decide if this is right for them or not!

It's NOT made by Klipsch. It's a rebranded German PEAQ PPS200.

Got 2 at Costco for 150 each for a thanksgiving party. Having 2 connected in stereo for a wide soundstage is nice, especially since 2 of them are worth the price of 1 JBL partybox110.

Don't get me wrong, the JBL partybox series are still MILES ahead in sound quality, loudness, bass, etc.

- punchy sound but mediocre sub bass, it's not gonna shake your whole house or pop and break your windows like a JBL.
- don't expect 8hrs of battery life, my 2 units never got more than 3 hours.
- expect some harsh sibilance at higher volumes as the DSP isnt programmed well.

TLDR I think you get what you pay for.
