Think of this like basic car as Toyota Corolla. Need more "room and power"? Spend more for a Camry; not settling for a Corolla lol

ended up returning it bc after installing the basic social media apps... streaming apps.. and a few games with some productivity apps... literally couldn't even update the OS... i would've had to uninstall many apps and re-install later. completely unacceptable. forget being able to take advantage of offline videos/music from things like netflix or spotify... i dunno.. ppl saying 64GB is a great amount of storage (well.. more like 47GB usable) must not even use their tablets... 64GB is so trash... esp in 2024... like what is the point of having an ipad to gain access to their "eco system" of apps (which is why you would buy an ipad in the first place????) if you can't even use their apps bc you have 64GB of storage.... lmfao.. just get a firehd tablet if you're literally not going to take advantage of all the apps that apple has to offer...
but the boomers keep echoing "64GB is more than enough for 99.99999999% of ppl" i duno... they seem pretty cozy in their echo chambers.

But it seems 64GB is a boundary that some people found it's big enough and some don't think so. I bought an iPad Gen 4 in 2016 Thanksgiving for my mom, a 128GB one. Today she told me she found it's leaking battery power quick and charge slow. So I am looking for a new one for her. She said she wanted either same size 128GB or 256GB. I asked her to check the storage usage. She said it used 60GB. So it has 68GB left after 7 years and a half. I am like, you don't need 128GB. I understand iPad Gen 4 has a good quality, but she might need a newer one 5 years later since the battery may fail earlier before she need more storage. Plus she now take videos and photos with her phone. So she doesn't need a big storage any more. Therefore, we have this decision that for some people, 64GB is still good size.
Wait a second, what do we do with the videos that on her current iPad? I guess I will have to copy to my PC and not transfer to the new iPad.

No stress …. 64GB would be stressful
Now, when I do research on what gadget might be good "for me", I will look at both User reviews and Pro reviews and also current youtube videos on giving their take on what is slick deal right now on an ipad (all versions). I have seen videos of a number of yourtube videos with the reviewer lining all the current models on a table, and discussing the pro's and con's of them, and also the model that is the "smart buy" depending on what you wanting to do on the device. In the reviews I have seen that the ipad 9th gen for 249 dollars is the slickest deal for "most people" currently .
Also the ipad 9th gen has tons of user reviews on amazon and sells about 10k a month. IPAD 9th gen has 60,000 reviews and the ipad 10 gen has 10,000 total (on the Amazon website)
The higher model ipad would be good for specialized users and the reviewers go into those perks of the higher priced models.
Listen, I do understand you coming down on "only 64gb" storage, ... but before the ipad 9th gen ... the earlier gens only had 32gb storage ... base models. The ipad 9th and 10th gen has 64gb storage base model.
Do you own the ipad 9th gen, I do. What Ipad to you currently use?
64 GB barely leaves much storage after the updates are applied.
Also, the 9th Gen has wider borders that help prevent accidental screen touches while carrying.
