Crisis core is prequel to Final Fantasy VII
Final fantasy VII is original from 1997
Final fantasy VII Remake is a HD remake of part 1 of the original in 1997
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is the same as above but with improvements
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is part 2 of the remake

There's apparently a final part 3 to that remake.

I actually didn't know the price was so good for this game. I ended up getting the Switch version for just $10 more for the portability. Looks like it's ending up sold out everywhere so now is the time to buy.

This is an all time low. Not bad at all. Although I heard this game is pretty cringy at times. It is tempting though.

Will this help me understand Rebirth better or do they pretty well set it up?

So glad i saw this. I wanted it when I saw they were selling it at target. But didn't want to pay shipping. Plus I have a credit from Amazon since they never shipped a previous deal I purchased so I just canceled. Will use that returns credit for this

Pop the disc in and highlight the game icon on the dashboard. It'll show you an option to upgrade it. If it doesn't show you that (some games don't), just go into the PlayStation Store and find the game (with the disc in), then click on the 3 dots and select version, then go to the PS5 version and it should show you a free upgrade option in there. You will always have to keep the disc in when you want to play it, because it acts as a license for the game.

There's a chance the PS4 version will start auto downloading when you put the disc in, but you can stop it and delete it. However, the PS4 icon will always show up again when you remove the disc and put it back in, and I think when you turn the console off and on. It's just an empty icon though. It's annoying to see it, but oh well.
