Just a heads up if you are using this in an camera that will be recording 24/7. You probably want a Sandisk Max Endurance or Samsung Pro Endurance card.

This High Endurance is good for 20,000 hours or 833 days. The Sandisk will give you 13 years and Samsung will give you 16 years. Both of those will outlive your camera but the High Endurance card may crap out prematurely.

Every microSD card I purchased from Amazon has been a fake including this one. I purchased this exact card sold by Amazon.com (not third party) about 8 months ago and it turned out to be fake as my dash cam couldn't read it. Purchased the same card from Best Buy and it works flawlessly. There's a reason it's so cheap

Viofo recommends only SanDisk Max Endurance for their dash cams. SanDisk High Endurance and all of the Samsung cards are in the black list

Interesting. Every card I've ever owned I still own, and they all work the same today as when they were new. I even have a few no-name elcheapos and they work too. In other words, I've never had a bad card let alone one that wore out. I do have some god awful slow cards, but they all still work the same as when they were new. I have about a dozen in total. Maybe my luck is very good or my sample size is very small....?
Same for me. I've purchased about 20-25 microSD (and older standard SD) cards over the past 20yrs between 16GB and 512GB, almost all are various Samsung models which I use for my dashcams, a DSLR cameras, phones, video cameras, and a Mavic Pro drone, and all cards still work fine with no errors or bad sectors...even those I got 20yrs ago. The cards with the most use are a set of 2 Samsung 128GB EVO Select U3 rated cards that I got in 2017 (when they were $80/ea) for my 1080p DOD460W dashcam rotating between the cards each time 1 gets full, and they both still work fine today, more than 7 years later. I drive about 19,000mi/yr and my sentry/parking mode also records quite a bit of movement every day so they get a lot of writes/rewrites compared to the average user. I use a Vantrue N4 4K 3ch dashcam now with 512GB EVO Select U3 rated cards that I upgraded to about 1yr ago.

Of course there will be a few people with anecdotal evidence that a particular brand or model didn't work for them, but I don't believe that just because that one person had a defective product that that is the norm, or that I'm somehow super lucky to have this great track record with Samsung microSD (and regular SD) cards as just about everyone I know who has also used Samsung cards has had similar experiences to mine, and so have most people in the review sections of every major retailer I've looked at, so chances are Samsung cards should be pretty reliable and work well for you too.

On the topic of fake cards from Amazon, out of the 14 or 15 separate orders I've placed over a 20yr period, I've only gotten 1 fake batch around 2016 when I ordered 2 Samsung 64GB Pro cards but Amazon refunded those immediately and I got a new batch within 2 days which were authentic. All my orders were sold by Amazon and shipped by Amazon, so there are definitely some fake cards in Amazon's stockpiles, but I haven't noticed it being a common occurrence, and I also haven't heard of anyone I know getting a high percentage of fake Samsung cards from Amazon either, so calculating from my experience and data which I have personally collected from a fairly wide audience over the past 20yrs or so, it seems like Amazon ships a fake microSD card to maybe 1 out of 20 people, or 5% of their sales (which is 5% higher than it should be if they did any sort of quality inspections or held their vendors accountable for sending them fake stock) but I'm fine taking a 5% chance and I will continue to buy them from Amazon for the convenience and ease since I can easily return a fake card if they send me another one.

That's funny, because I've purchased dozens over the years, and every one I've got from Amazon was good. If you're not buying from 3rd parties, I don't know what we're doing differently, but there's got to be something. Suspiciously low pricing is usually a red flag to avoid, of course. And of course, Amazon doesn't care - they could easily flag 90% of the fakes and ban the sellers just by price cutoff alone.

Yup, this is the reason I don't buy SD cards and batteries from Amazon anymore. They don't care where they get their inventory from. And I make sure that's from Amazon/fulfilled by Amazon too!

The seller doesn't matter because Amazon comingles their own inventory with the inventory form 3rd party sellers in their FBA warehouses. As long as the barcode matches the genuine item then Amazon will send a 3rd party's unit to the buyer regardless of what the shipped/sold says on the item's detail page. I've heard of people getting game console boxes with the correct UPC barcode but receiving items in the box that are the same weight as a genuine game console. But since AZ warehouses don't inspect the items inside boxes the only thing for them to go on is weight and UPC. And Amazon will not reimburse sellers when this happens, so sellers must lose the money on items they send in even if that seller sends genuine stuff. Despite this risk many sellers continue to use comingled inventory because it saves them time when preparing shipments to the FBA warehouses.

Huh, that's bizarrely stupid of Amazon...why on earth would they screw their own reputation like that for some assumed minor inventory savings - it's not like it's impossible for them to keep inventories separated. Some Executard genius at Amazon HQ needs to be fired, it seems. I guess nothing should surprise in the corporate world me these days. I suppose I've just been lucky with my random selection of SD/microSD cards being good.

I don't think so. 16GB SD cards didn't exist 20 years ago.

It's actually worse. Amazon also sells opened returns as new. I've had this happen at least twice. In one case, I paid extra for a new item both sold AND shipped by Amazon. I received an obvious return, which ended up being an empty box. These aren't the only issues I've had with Amazon fulfillment lately. In my eyes, they've done a great job destroying their reputation.

Wait for Best Buy or NewEgg so you don't get a fake

I usually get the Samsung as articles say they perform better but not sure if it's worth 22% higher price right now or if I should keep waiting
If your data is important and you want to know it's always going to be there, go with Samsung and pay the extra.

After wasting so much money on Sandisk, Sony, and Kingston, that cannot handle security and dash cam, I stick with Samsung. Never had any failures on cards even made before the endurance. They work fine for any other application where it's not write heavy, just not those 2 even if they cna handle the speed or made for it.

Sadly, it seems that Amazon has decided they have a near Monopoly on e-commerce so they don't need to have a reputation any more Frown

You realize 20,000 hours is more driving time than most people will do in their entire lifetime? It isn't 833 days. Nobody is driving 24/7 to equate to 833 days. If someone average speed driving is 40mph, that is 800,000 miles. 50mph, is 1,000,000.

I've read that for newer Viofo dash cams Sandisk is recommended over Samsung.

I'm using 128 GB SanDisk Ultra which is on their Not Recommended list. It's been working fine for years with one exception, summer time. When it gets really hot, Viofo reboots at random. It does that a few times until AC cools it down. Other than heat issue, it is flawless in fall, winter and spring time.

I have never tried other microSDXC cards. I'm going to get a better and larger capacity (256 GB) storage. This High Endurance sounds like a good deal.

I have a 64 GB SanDisk SD card (not micro) that survives washing machine and dryer. Didn't even know it was in my pants pocket until the pants are clean and dry. Pop it back into PC, all photos are intact. None got corrupted. They actually look "cleaner" :-p
