Microsoft is upping apple's game by going even more expensive on memory upgrades???
But yes, Surface Pro will play Diablo IV. I've seen videos of it running at 60fps at 900p with FSR enabled.

I was just reverse trolling people that comes in and complain about $200 Mac memory upgrades but fine with Microsoft $300 for the same upgrade.
the AI power Gaudi3 is said to be servers running the xenon class chips and for inferencing server farms and not for "desktops"
I don't think Intel will make anything useful, all desktop based AI work is GPU driven such as the case for nvidia and apple silicon where local LLMs are driven on the GPUs because there is just more GPU processing powers available. even Apple silicon's neuro engine isn't use that much, and local LLMs only use the apple silicon GPUs today too.
can use CPU but it kills the machine like crazy where GPU use allows you to run regular apps still simultaneously without any impact as long as you don't need major GPU power while inferencing is running.
Until Intel can make a great integrated GPU which it still cannot, it's gonna be pretty bad in the desktop AI space and will rely on software like co-pilot from Microsoft which is available on today's CPUs
You are correct that the battery life stinks though on the z13. When PC Mag tested video streaming battery life the Surface Pro 9 lasted 13 hours whereas the z13 lasted only 6.
The only other option to get an RTX series GPU in a tablet-like device though is the Surface Laptop Studio, which is very expensive and in some significant ways worse (the screen!) than the Asus z13.

yup. when they first hinted integrating AI, i thought it would have been interesting.. if the reviews are poor.. guess no point of having a 7nm slow as balls and power hungry chip. surface 9 it is!
although, the anti glare matte finish, i think it was.. kinda neat.
press release.
