Find this hard to believe unless it's a luxury/exotic. What car is this?

There is nothing special about oil in luxury cars. There is no reason it should cost more. The difference in price between 5 quarts of oil in my Audi S5 and my Jeep Wrangler is less than $3. People paying more are just getting scammed.

Same price at Walmart. As long as you make routine oil and filter changes every 5 to 6 thousand miles depending on your driving conditions this is fine oil. Plus chances are your Walmart may have it on shelves with no shipping.

Full synthetic and fully synthetic, is there a difference?

If you have to ask, it won't make a difference which one you pick.

So cheap. Just moved to Germany from the USA and had an oil change done. $200 dollars for 5 quarts of synthetic oil here. Total cost for the oil change was $450.

Yikes.
You got robbed. 5-liter bottles of fully synthetic oil sell for less than $30 Euro in Germany (Shell, Total). Mobil 1 is around $40 Euro per 5 liters.

Walmart usually has a full synthetic around this price all the time. Quaker State Ultimate at 20 bucks right on the shelf. Menards is usually one of the cheapest places to by synthetic oils if you have one near.

Not to start a debate but what's your source for 5-6k intervals? Most conventional oils have been able to handle that with ease for decades now. Any synthetic should be able to handle 10k without issue. Blends fall somewhere in the middle of those two.

The issue isn't oil degradation. It will lubricate fine for it's stated lifetime.

The issue is the tiny particles that are suspended in the oil. They circulate through the engine potentially damaging it. Frequent oil changes flush out those particulates and is better for the engine. That's the popular theory amongst the car community right now.

I change mine every 3k miles. As the saying goes, oil is cheap, engines are not. I also drive a gdi turbo car.

But waiting 10k is probably fine. Especially if you're only keeping the car for 5 yrs or so.

Yes, this. By 3-4K the oil is looking pretty black. Just changed whatever synthetic oil the dealer put into my new-to-me low mileage 2016 Acura RDX, at 6200 miles/30% life, and it was coal black. I've changed the cheapo conventional oil in my 160K mile Ranger every 2500-3500 miles since I bought it with 17K on the odometer. Recently pulled a valve cover to change the gasket and there was zero sludge or varnish visible.

Will probably go to 4000 mile interval on the RDX. Just bought Kirkland synthetic for that purpose, especially seeing the tiny filters Honda puts on their motors.

Search for Car Care Nut and Scotty Kilmer on YouTube and watch their videos. They recommend oil change every 5K or 6 months. They have videos showing proof of engine damage at 10K intervals.

Not for nothing, but Scotty Kilmer is a bit of a hack. He recommends a ton of crap on there, which is snake oil. I forgot what he uses to stop leaks in power steering units but its a hack like all them that swells seals. Just an example.

The biggest thing with oil. Engines BURN oil, especially as they get passed 100k. Something like Mobil1 can go 5k easy BUT you need to check your oil at 3k 3.5k 4k etc.

Yeah, Scotty Kilmer has some good advice, but some ridiculous crap too. Plus, all the clickbait crap he pulls like an attention-grabbing tik-toker. I don't have time to sift through what is potentially good and what's who-know-why-he-puts-it-up content. I moved on and look up specific videos for my cars and motors and find experts on those.

Here's one for you. What quality of oil does my engine require? If I spend on the highest quality oil, will add one day to my engines life at the very end?

I know what I'm talking about my guy. There is a difference. You are paying for the labor. Luxury cars have additional clips/panels you have to remove in order to get to the drain plug and oil filter.

Oil change procedure on a Rav4 is not the same as on a Lamborghini Urus
