You're not imagining - Helman's went cheap and the EDTA will kill ya faster.
Almost impossible to find a mayo on most shelves nowadays that isn't cheapened with EDTA.

Kewpie's extra yolks mean you can't just throw Kewpie into recipes that assume standard mayo like Hellmann's, though it is a solid choice for stuff like deviled eggs and potato salad.

Just make sure to check the expiration date, and if you're physically at the store (any store), remember that the later dates are often in the back of the shelf. I've seen major date fluctuations (front vs. back).
