I have a chandelier that uses 3 bulbs. I placed an order for three 75W White and Color Ambiance bulbs and received 20% off all of them ($94.20 after 20%, $31.40ea).

Ease of use and longevity.

They just work and stay working (for me anyway). Haven't had an issue with their app in years. Not one.

Have used Govee and other brands. If you can afford it Hue is usually better.

Been waiting for these [amazon.com] to drop in price.

Dell has the same offer on certain products [dell.com]. I doubt they have better prices on average, but they have better cashback offers from portals and credit cards. You can also use Dell Rewards and promo gift cards. Unfortunately, their Hue offer does not stack with their 10% off accessories.

ugh. same. I'm probably going to install some generic 6" ones and a zigbee relay waiting for the 6" slims to go on sale.

I've not had a single issue with Govee. I've never had Hue. Why are Hue better than Govee?

All I've read/heard is Hue is "truer color" than Govee. But I don't even really understand what that means, if all Govee lights are synced in color and have good reliability, then what's the problem? I paid a fraction of the cost of Hue.

My brother has Hue, and I don't see the justification in markup for the brand. Someone please help educate me?

I think with Hue, you connect it to a hub, and with Govee, you're connecting it directly to wifi. which can cause jam your wifi network. Beside that, I think it's just brand name thing. I have both Hue and Govee, can't tell much different in colors. Maybe because my I can't tell different between slightly different shades of color.

The 2-pack color ambiance BR30 bulbs is on sale. Buy 2 (4 bulbs total) and with the 20% discount, the price is $29 per bulb, which is very good if you need 4.

I'm no technical product manager or engineer.

I like Hue better after using products from both companies. Personal preference I guess you can say. Their app has always worked flawlessly for me vs Govee's apps. Color is better on the Hue products. If you watch a lot of YouTube vids you'll see Govee's colors aren't as crisp as Hue's. Yellows for instance are yellow with Hue but on many Govee products the yellow has a greenish tint making it look green vs yellow. That's just one example.

Govee makes fine products. Not knocking them. If I'm spending more for the same lights just sit back and laugh at me but I'm happy with Hue and the money spent (have to get them on sale). =)

Doesn't HUE now require an account so they can harvest your data?

If you're not using any automation hub, Govee is perfectly fine. I use Home Assistant and the wifi connection Govee uses isn't as reliable as Hue. Every now and then I had to reconfigure a random light that decided not to work anymore. That's why I moved all my devices to Hue because they just work.

Govee is slowly moving to Matter. It might work better with hubs.

"Harvest your data" is one of those sentences that requires a reasoned interpretation. They will get your email address, light usage stats. Who really cares?

It won't work any better if they continue to use Wi-Fi. Every Wi-Fi switch/bulb from every vendor I have ever used eventually lost its connection especially if you are at a further W-Fi distance from your router. Hue uses Zigbee which is a mesh network. Hue works better because it only has to connect to the closest other hue device to it. I have a lot of Hue products and a lot of z-wave products which both use mesh networks. Except for one older z-wave switch that was problematic, I never had connection issues or things losing their connection. I just bought 3 of the br30 2-packs. These are my first BR30 bulbs. I want more but think I'll wait for these to show up this afternoon and see how well they perform. I hope it is enough light for the kitchen. I already reprogrammed my z-wave dimmer wall switch to do local dimming at 99 steps and 1ms. It practically turns on to 100% which is needed for Hue. There still are not any real good solutions for a wall switch when using with z-wave. I could just put a regular switch in but then if I need to turn off from the couch I'll have to do it directly from the bulbs leaving the switch in the "on" position with the lights off. That won't pass the spouse test.
