There's a reason these are on closeout. They are horrible. Returned them after multiple Dirac Live Set ups.

The msrp on these is a fantasy.

I tried the towers awhile ago. They were okay. The speaker build quality and packaging is not super great so check all your stuff for any in transit damages.

For $600. Prolly a decent entry into this type of gear. Again the full retail is an absolute fiction.

The same company that owns Klipsch owns Magnat. VOXX International has a broad range of products sold under a portfolio of over 35 well-known Consumer Electronics brands in the premium audio and accessories categories, including Klipsch®, RCA®, Acoustic Research®, Audiovox®, 808 Audio®, Magnat®, Heco®, Schwaiger®, Oehlbach®, and more.

Audiovox started in 1960, maker of cheap electronics and car audio products found in KMart, and other discount retail stores. Audiovox changed its name to Voxx in 2012. They sold car stereo, eq's, power boosters, and speakers in blister packs. If anyone remembers JC Whitney catalogs, this is about the quality you got with Audiovox. Made in China back in the day and race to the bottom, selling purely on low price. They formed a business relationship with the new owners of Sharp, who drug that brand into the ground. They bought the Onkyo and Integra name, out of bankruptcy, and that equipment had all kinds of HDMI handshake issues. Hopefully they don't destroy Klipsch.

Just bought a Samsung HW-Q990C. Should I return and get this set with a decent receiver instead?
I had a 3.1 setup using Infinity R263 towers center speaker and my Q990C sounds far better much louder and clearer dialogue.

VOXX also owns Jamo, Jensen, Pioneer, Audiovox etc. VOXX is an international corporation based in Orlando, Florida. Not saying that Magnat is a great brand. Just decided to do some research on who they were.

These are Chinese entry level white van models. The company sold out and is racing to the bottom. You get what you pay for, and there's no Easter egg in these boxes. Been around audio too long.
Prove it.

Find the absolute cheapest 12" woofer on Parts Express or Amazon. Now compare that to what they put in their 30lb dual port subwoofer box. They have a picture of the motor structure on their website. It's debatable that it even compares to the cheapest driver at Parts Express or Amazon. Now check the metrics. Tiny magnet and low power handling, coupled with a weak amplifier tells you it has little control and poor decay stats. Read sloppy. And based on the poor driver, weak amplifier, light weight of the box, you've got little bracing, thin walls, which means high resonance. And to end it all, the specs claim it will play down to 20Hz. Erin's audio corner reviewed arguably the best entry level budget subwoofer, the Monoprice 12" ported. The bass rolled off at 50Hz, and was almost inaudible at 30Hz.

Yes, 20 year old technology. They sell car DVD players for rear seats, most likely left over inventory with their original company name on them. Their newer streaming rear players have the Voxx name on them.

Seeing lots of folks in the posts about these, hating on them, but have never tried them. Judging entirely on things like magnet size without even knowing what the magnet is made from. My RS12 sub arrived last week. It's a competent sub.Night and day improvement over the inexpensive monoprice sub it replaced. The sub alone is still on sale for $150 - and at that price I think it's hard to beat. I've owned many subwoofers through the years, built some quite recently, including using those cheap parts-express woofers. This is better. You can't build a decent subwoofer for $150 including box, amplifier, etc.. If you need a cheap solution, these work FINE. The haters need to shut up or actually try the stuff they're bashing on.

Somebody in the thread mentioned they did Dirac Live on them and they still weren't impressive. Assuming they really did that, that's going beyond just trying them.

Nobody is hating on the deal. The most anyone said is the MSRP is not to be taken seriously. It's perfectly fine for $600, but nobody should be confused about what they're getting.

Which sub & amp you used in 3.1 setup? And did you EQ your speakers? I am surprised to hear Q990C beating R263 in sound quality
but if sounded better in your setup, thats good

I picked up a sub as well. I am no audiophile but it sounds decent to me for 150 bucks.
