I am not sure I have even seen the theatrical cut. On the Blu-ray.com forums some prefer theatrical.

Theatrical is superior IMO. Alien might be one of the only movies out there where the Director's Cut is actually shorter.

Can't you just use the Apple TV App on a smart TV?
I never used Apple TV, but I would think you should be able to.
Aliens isn't part of this deal and you're wrong. MA and Vudu has the same. Also, FYI, buying Alien theatrical gives you the director's cut too in the special features.
