Vizio used to be a brand where, even though it was lower tier, you'd still get a decent product for the price. That brand has gone so far downhill over the last few years, though. Now that it has been bought by Walmart, it wouldn't surprise me if the quality dropped even more.

Just an FYI for anyone out of the loop: Walmart recently bought Vizio to bring them in as a house brand.

Vizio's products were already on the decline, but this might be the final nail in the coffin.

I doubt Walmart bought Vizio just to shutter operations. While the tvs have not kept up in recent years, the sound bars are speakers have been fine. I would expect Vizio to replace Onn as a brand in audio and lcds. The Vizio tvs will likely become a value brand to compete against Hisense and TCL instead of targeting Samsung and LG high end models.

I've had two Visios that both had probs after a year or two. One was repaired under warranty and it worked for awhile until it had power on issues and I had to power it on twice in a row to get it to display the picture. My third Visio is a 27" TV and it's been running for 5+ years just fine...

thank you all for sharing your experience, idk anything about Vizio. The negative reviews along with damaged TV's, shipping issues and Walmart expecting everyone to haul this TV to the store makes this a hard pass.

2 years ago, I bought one of Vizio's 42" 4K TVs for a friend and it kept having this issue where it would turn on and get audio, but no video, unless she unplugged it and plugged it back in. I took it back for her and just got a replacement of the same TV. It had the exact same problem. She told me it didn't bother her enough to return it again, but I wouldn't be surprised if that TV dies any day now. My sister has a similar Vizio that has issues with the picture sometimes going out for a few seconds. I've also bought three different surround sound systems of theirs in the last 2-3 years (2 for me, 1 for a friend), and each one has had multiple problems. Vizio is such garbage.

FWIW, I have a 65" Onn Roku TV. Got it BF 2020 and not a single issue - use it daily.

As I said, they aren't discontinuing the brand at all. That would actually be beneficial to consumers.

Whether they're bringing it in-house to become the Lexus to their Toyota and market to different levels of consumers is also not the focus here.

If you read up on it, you'll find that what Walmart is really after is Vizio's customer data. Vizio was in a class action lawsuit years ago for spying on consumers' viewing habits through their TV and they were quick to add an arbitration clause after it was settled.

If you trust Walmart with more data on you, all the more power to you.

But I'm not about to sell it to them for a Vizio.

I bought a Vizio e series in 2018. Backlight just died a month ago. Not bad for 6 years. Might replace backlight myself

FYI...this is a 2021 model... Low brightness (< 250 nits)... Poor viewing angle... Inferior upscaling, etc. Rtings has gone through five updated (more stringent) testing methods since this TV was released. If they were to update this TV to their latest test bench it would rate lower than the attached review suggests.
