Seems like a great deal, but am I missing something? All this does is make it so you don't have to plug in a usb cable? Is that really worth the $? It takes me like 2 seconds plus my phone gets charge that way. I feel like I'm not "getting" why this is useful or potentially worth $80+
I bought this specifically because plugging in my phone made it too hot where it shut off. As i use my phone for gps for home visits for work and music is essential for almost everything i do, especially driving, its a no brainer. I paid like $50 a few years ago for older model, at this price its a must , if i didnt already have one

Worth 80$? No, not at all… 35$, sure.
I use a MagSafe vent mount, so charging is wireless. My phones always have a plug in the port, since I work outside and the port can get filled with debris/dirt/whatever… so for me, yeah, it's quite useful.

Not to mention… I despise plugging things in, especially in the car, cords always just suck 😂

It makes the Carplay connection wireless. It doesn't provide any power to the phone. If you have a convenient wired connection, use it. My USB port is in an inconvenient place and running a wire is not optimal so I use one of these. I have this one and like it. Occasionally it will crash and I have to unplug it 2-3 times a month. It works pretty well for me.

It took my order 18 days to get to me from Light in the Box. Never had any problems with them. YMMV

To everyone who has one (or two, like me), remember to update it. To do this, connect like usual (so CarPlay is working) then open a web browser to 192.168.50.2. This gives you access to settings and updates.

I've had mine for a few weeks. It freezes every once in awhile, requiring me to unplug it and plug it back in. It seems more likely to happen when I continue driving after taking a short stop, like to get gas.

I have version 3.0 and love it. It loads a bit slow at times but for what it does it is well worth the few seconds wait. I highly recommend these and would get it if I did not have mine already.

Bought one last time around. It took a little bit to arrive but so far so good. I think once it hung up a bit, but was fine next time I started my car. I'm using it with an aftermarket Sony Carplay headunit.

Anyone use this over the summer in FL or TX heat? I'm convinced my Motorola ma1 is being killed by the heat, I've gone through 3 over 4 years

edit: nevermind, the reviews on Amazon are bad for this thing

IMO this is good for short commutes, but not so much road trips due to excessive phone battery usage.

I do wonder how much more efficient native wireless AA/CP functionality is compared to these devices, if anyone knows, do tell!

I ordered this last time; two months later it didn't show up and I had to ask for a refund. Skip this company.

Mine came from this company a few days ago. Hooked it up and working fine so far, takes awhile to connect. Using it for Car Play, checked for updates and it said none needed at this time.
