Dont buy an electric car yet, expensive to repair!
True but the convenience of it is pretty sweet. Also, all cars are getting more expensive to repair, not just EV

EVs are the biggest scam of the 21st century and I believe people will stop believing in this crap and allow real car manufacturers to continue to work to improvise the combustion engine technology and Hydrogen models.
Nobody forcing you to buy EV. We like it so don't project your BS opinion. Someone's afraid of a little competition 😜

Meh. It needed to shake up the car world. Technology for cars has not moved in 30 years. Were still at the same gas mileage we were in the 90s. They are withholding advancements for big oil and this moved the needle big time. Maybe full electric isnt the answer but being able to "fill" the tank at the convenience of home at 10% of the cost is huge.

A guy I know bought one full price and just got his delivered about a month ago. He's extremely upset and isn't sure what he's going to do. He owes a lot more on the car than it's now worth and he was only planning on keeping the car for a few years. He has encountered a lot of software bugs on the vehicle already, and that was something he was expecting but he was counting on Fisker to gradually improve the software, though that is likely to be vastly different given the business circumstances.
That's the risk he took for a startup company. Go buy teal if you want a more proven vehicle

The car is made in Austria if what I heard on the electric Viking is accurate.

The ceo is a known crook. The car has a lot of issues as is, and definitely had some previously used technology but this is a very risky move.

If you buy it and get a commercial loan and register the car commercially as a dba or corp you can get a write off every year for 5 years valued at 60k most likely.

I think the car had a major flaw that's creating this discount and I wouldn't want to find out 40k later.

Hell you can always end up getting in a mysterious accident I guess, if all else fails
You call the CEO a crook yet you're suggesting to scam your insurance. Hypocrisy much? 🤔

I'm curious what happened to all the early adopters that bought at full price over the last few months..now seeing the same car priced at 40% cheaper.

LOL, Waiting for the rest to follow suit so the industry can focus on advanced Hybrid and Hydrogen tech. This Battery tech is a few decades away if that. They need to find a replacement for strip mining in Africa to make these "GREEN" car batteries.
lol. Hydrogen stations are closing left and right. There is zero infrastructure. Meanwhile ev charging stations are on every corner as Tesla dominates market share. Go to CA and you'll see evs will be around for a long while.

Vinfast is next. Who wants to bet?
Vinfast will be fine because the EV car is a small fraction of their whole business. They have a successful EV scooter, hotel, education, real estate and many other industries.

I am concerned for rivian

Convenience? What kind of convenience? There is none, I own Model Y LR; to charge you have to wait for 20-30 min, very inconvenienent. Parts are very expensive as it is not mass produced unlike other ICE car.

So much fear mongering and straight up lies and misinformation from people who I assume shorted the stock. There is no safety issue whatsoever…they wouldn't be on the road if there was one. There is no comparable model y at the same price range…not even close. The idea that this will become a paperweight bc of a software issue in the future is laughable…yeah…all the karmas out there are paperweights right?
Are you still hanging your hat on complaints about various issues or reservations with any car only on "people that have shorted the stock". That is so 2016 and a beacon for echo chamber forum speak. There are electric cars now with full vendor support that have repairs that cost more than the car did and parts issues even for ICE cars although not ending the cars life but overly complicated and expensive and very poor design. I'm looking in at the industry as a whole, battery, hybrid, and IC and it is scary and not consumer friendly unless you swap cars ever couple years.

That's the same time for you to drive to the gas station to refill your gas tank

An EV is cheaper, but not 10x cheaper to go 100 miles.

A gas Rav4 gets 29MPG average. At $4 gallon, thats $14 to go 100 miles.
A Hybrid Rav4 gets 39MPG. That would be around $10.25 to go 100 miles.

A Tesla model Y uses 27kwh to go 100 miles.
at $0.20 per Kwh, thats $5.4 to go 100 miles.
at $0.40 per Kwh(supercharger), thats $10.80 to go 100 miles.

Would you still buy it if the company goes bankrupt?

People dont typically drive to a gas station and then back up. Usually, people are driving somewhere and stop to get gas.

Someone (maybe one of the major I.C.E. manufacturers) will buy the company when the value drops enough.
