Seems like a solid price.

Considering upgrading from my old GTX 1080 on my workstation, constantly running out of VRAM with a lot of tabs/apps open (Photoshop, etc) and having more power sure wouldn't hurt.

not a bad price, but hard sell when you can get 6650xt for 230 dollars, or 7600 for 250 dollar, or 7700xt for not much more.
if i am looking at spending 370 on a mid to high tier card at this moment, i would just get 7700xt for 400.

Why would you pay $30 more for a 7700xt? The 6800 is on par (Techpowerup actually has the 6800 2% faster than the 7700xt) with the 7700xt and comes with 16gb of vram instead of 12gb which is on the 7700xt.

if item in question is 6800xt, then i would go with that. but 6800 is pretty much on the same level as 7700xt, the extra vram, not to say isn't important, but not as important for this tier of cards, as you obviously won't be running 4k ultra with ray tracing with any of them. and being AMD cards, it is not like you gonna actually run data models on those (which requires large vram if you want to have larger batch sizes, even if you don't have the latest and greatest chips). i also think AMD (which i have the 6800xt in one of my boxes), just put shit load of vram to confuse the customer into thinking their card has somewhat a competitive edge to the NVDA cards, when in actuality those additional vram make very little differences in games for those level of cards. heck, the 4070 TI Super, which is a much faster card in all fronts, only got 12G or ram. i suppose Intel is now playing that a game, adding 16G vram to A770, which effectively is as fast as a 8G RTX 2070 or 6600XT, but certainly make people think it could be twice as fast.

here is something to consider:
1. driver support. manufacture won't care about the older products as much when new ones released. so expect better drivers optimizations that easily erase that 2% gain. things like HYPR-RX is only available to 7000 series.
2. Video encoding support.

and yes, i would consider those feature easily worth 8% premium,

People who buy this card will be playing in 1440p. Hardware Unboxed and Daniel Owens already showed that games are already hitting that cap or even exceeding the 12gb of vram. Driver support will always be an issue, but more vram is the safer option. A good example is the RX 580 from 7 years ago. Its still a decent card today for 1080p AAA games thanks to its 8gb VRAM. The video encoding is personal opinion. Not everyone needs or wants to stream.

Well, it's more like 25% in both 1080p and 1440p. Plus 16gb of VRAM. It's definitely an upgrade but it being worth it is an individual question.

It's a 25% performance boost and 16gb of ram. If the price delta between the new 6800 and you selling the 6700xt is worth that performace jump it's really up to you!

It is a great card though. I daily drove it for about 6 months and then put it into my kids PC when I built him one for Christmas and bought a new one for my other son for his PC. My personal opinion it's the best bang for the buck for 1440p high frame rate. That or jumping to a 7800xt if you want the new features and hope there is a jump with FSR 3.1 for 7 series cards.

Can't get any confirmation that VSR supports custom resolutions these days - like 1440p > 1620p so I'll have to skip it I guess. Probably will have to go with NV again.

Can you produce evidence to back up your claim?
TomsHardware review of the 6700 XT/3 [tomshardware.com] shows a 10% FPS improvement at 1080p and 15% FPS improvement at 1440p.
