Completely agree! To add more details, here's an excerpt from my review here: https://www.yuenx.com/2022/review...and_Safety

Battery Technology and Safety
Goal Zero debuted with Lead-Acid batteries that were bulky and heavy. Today's devices use Lithium-ion — commonly Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NCM) or Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4 / LFP) chemistries — for more power in a smaller, lighter package. NMC, however, is more volatile than LiFePO4 and becomes riskier as more cells are packed together. Goal Zero and Jackery used NMC for some time whereas EcoFlow and Bluetti use LiFePO4. Jackery launched its first LiFePO4 model in mid-June 2023 and Goal Zero in October that year.

How much energy a battery can store is measured in Wh (Watt-hours), and how much power is used or produced in W (Watts)
- The higher the Watt-hour (Wh) capacity rating, the more dangerous the battery could become if not handled right
- The quality of the battery cells and the BMS (Battery Management System) are crucial for safety.

Cell Manufacturers
Battery cells made by LG and Sony are among the best in the hobbyist world as are Sanyo/Panasonic and Samsung. Goal Zero uses LG. Jackery also uses LG or BAK (a leading Chinese brand). EcoFlow makes its own. During my years of research, I found that use of lower-quality batteries could pose a serious risk to life and property and should become a crucial part in deciding what to buy.

Safety
The second part in a battery's safe operation depends heavily on the design and BMS (Battery Management System). Some BMS manufacturers, unfortunately, overstate their capabilities that could lead to catastrophic failure.
- Design should allow for proper, thermal cooling, use quality components, and obtain proper certifications
- Batteries made by known manufacturers are less likely to fail
- BMS should sufficiently restrict the battery from going past its capabilities

Why buy a $300 cord? I have a $20 cord that woks just fine.

This power station and an inverter generator can compliment each other both have strengths and weaknesses. My $200 generator can do what this can't etc...

I personally don't like buying off brand when it comes to larger lithium products. The last thing I'd want is for one to go bad and catch fire in my house. Off brands may look great on the spec sheet but they do cut corners to make that price point. Internally they are not comparable.

A few of my buddies and I recently purchased these on sale for $699 for camping and over-landing and so far I like it a lot more than my last Jackery 1000 pro. The unit stores and transport so much easier and the individual outlets are better place. It's now on sale for $70 less at $629, seems like a great deal.

These things are great. I have the older model, and it runs everything I need to run when there is an outage. So much better than a gas generator and having to buy 300.00 worth of cords to run thru your house. shake head

I like this power station I wish it could accept more than 500 watts but in all reality that's probably enough.

I know I am gonna get downvoted for this, but... this doesn't seem like such a good deal to me, unless you really, really want ECOFLOW! DELTA!!!

On a cost/wh basis, this is $630+tx for 1024Wh, while you can get a 1228Wh [cooflypower.com] no-name for $300.

I know, there are advantages to the Delta, like faster charging and such, so yeah, but, maybe.

It charges at 1200 watt, full charge in less than an hour.

I wouldn't trust a no-name brand because of support and safety issues with cheap batteries and/or faulty BMS. See here for more details: https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=170063418&postcount=14

See my Quick Overview of the Delta 2 here: https://www.yuenx.com/2022/quick-...ore-1000c/

Then see here about how long a 1,000Wh battery can power a fridge for: https://www.yuenx.com/2021/review...y_is_Empty. Formula: Hours available for device = Battery capacity (Wh) x 0.85 / Watts used by device. The Delta 2 is 1,024Wh.

So, it fully depends on how much power the fridge draws. If you're looking at a car freezer, see here: https://www.yuenx.com/2021/review...r_Stations. In that example, the battery could deplete in 20 hours, but in my experience, it should last between 20-48 hours (at most 72 hours), depending on how warm the ambient temperature is.
