I have the older model of this and the Jr model....have to keep them both covered and metal parts oiled to prevent rust. They both work great and have lasted me years. I personally do not like the included grates and have replaced them. The included grates have a coating and the coating flakes off..the included grate was rusted on delivery.

There's a stainless heat deflector on Amazon made for the older models... I've used the smoking stone, but it broke with in a couple years. There's a pic of a stainless heat deflector on the product page...maybe this one comes with it??? It says "stainless steel warming rack"
The temp guage on my Jr broke with in a couple years.
I can't speak to the longevity of the digital controls on this, because I only have the older models.
I actually prefer to use the JR model, because it's more efficient and seems to brown better ...do the smaller dome??? The Jr is just big enough for 4 people, but it can be tight. I can still cook a whole chicken in it.
This larger model is useful for a full size pizza and cooking large amounts of food. Can easily cook 2 or 3 chickens in it... I'll meal prep with the larger amount of food I can cook on this larger model.
